Free Music Notes for Stubbs The Zombie: The SoundtrackFree Music Review: Now appearing at the Velvet Sounds Lounge, it's.... Hit: 5 Stars
a collection of incredible music pulled from the Oldies! Aspyr Media's producer Zach Rener does an excellent job of making this one of the best compilation albums of 2005.
Songs such as Rogue Wave's "Everyday" and Milton Mapes' "Lonesome Town" get a new, hazy-lazy-day feel to them that is both touching and inspiring. On the other end of the spectrum, Phantom Planet's "The Living Dead" and Rose Hill Drive's "Shakin' All Over" get an updated, funk-rock sound which reminds the listener what "psychedelic" means.
Overall, this album is a great mix of pop and alt-funk, with some lovely lounge sounds to keep us interested. It is not often a game soundtrack can hold its own. This album does just that.
Free Music Review: Great Music! Hit: 5 Stars
This CD has so many great songs on it! I used to listen to some of these growing up because my parents always played these kinds of songs every now and then. Great classics, in one great CD for a great video game! The CD features original and rare recordings from Ben Kweller, The Raveonettes, Death Cab For Cutie, Rose Hill Drive, Cake, The Walkmen, Rogue Wave, The Dandy Warhols, Oranger, The Flaming Lips, Clem Snide, Milton Mapes, Phantom Planet and so many great songs from said bands! If you loved old songs and the game Stubbs the zombie then pick this CD Up!
Free Music Review: Perfect! Hit: 5 Stars
Exept for 2 tracks (the one from Dandy Warhols and Flaming Lips, which i was expecting a lot from!...) this compilation is perfect.I'm not interested in the Video Game but i love it music. The ravonettes, death cab and oranger tracks are my favorite of all but the rest is fine to! who would have known such oldies could make new hits from our times! Don't hesitate, just by it if you love alternative rock like i do!
Free Music Review: Rockin Hit: 5 Stars
Except for the inane Flaming Lips song, this album is great. Rose Hill Drive's version of Johnny Kidd and the Pirates' "Shakin' All Over" is the hardest rocker on there, a definite departure from the original. "Mr Sandman" is a must-hear, also harder than the original but totally groovy. The Cake song is also awesome as is the Walkmen cover. You will not regret getting this disc.
Free Music Review: Wonderful Soundtrack! Hit: 5 Stars
I am not too into video games, but Stubbs the Zombie definitely caught my eye when I saw the tracklisting for the soundtrack. I knew it would not be disappointing! Not only does it have some of my favorite artists on it, but every single song by everyone is really enjoyable on the cd. Definitely check this out!
