Free Music Review: Nothing Broken About this Bridge...

If you've ever been to a live TK show you know there is only one - wait a minute... two things missing. One is the automatic beer dispenser that should have been installed at the end of your aisle, so you don't have to miss a minute of the party.
And the second (the real thing missing) is the slow ballads... the softer stuff. Great songs like; My List, If a Man Answers, You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This... well - you know the ones. The tracks that women love and guys never own up to liking, but secretly know the words from listening when no one else is in the car... errr Truck.
Well this album 'Bridges', the party tunes and anthems we love to the soft white(trash with money) underbelly that all to often gets forgotten at the shows. The title track, which actually was featured during the tour, is a beautiful duet showcasing future star Lindsey Haun. It kicks off the album with a melancholy feel but gives the listener hope reminding us that we can cross even the 'Broken Bridges In Our Life'
'Crash Here Tonight', continues with the soft stuff and will have you 'Closing Your Eyes' While TK 'Sings you One More Love Song'.
Lindsey Haun's solo track "Broken" proves she can hold her own with her beautiful voice in a powerful song that reminds you that 'Every Tear Falls For a Reason'.
All the tracks aren't from Toby, and the well-picked talent on this CD ranges from unknown soon-to-be-known artists, to Music Legends like Willie Nelson, Vince Gill and Bebe Winans. Scotty Emerick's Toe Tapper "Baby What's Up With That" is probably the most recognizable (non-Toby) Charted track on the CD.
You just can't ignore that the theme of Hope is a common thread on this CD and it's never more evident than on 'Uncloudy Day'; a familiar revival track you'll find yourself drawn to replay each time you hear it. And I dare you not to tap your foot or slap the steering wheel when you hear it.
While most soundtrack CD's fail commercially, this CD really deserves a chance. Whether you're a TK Fan, a country music fan, or just a fan of a good `Story telling CD' -BUY IT!!!
Just like the live concerts, this CD takes you on a great ride and it does a terrific job of telling you a story even if you haven't seen the movie. Plus the album closes with some rocking tunes, that really 'Bridges' the CD to the classic party tunes and anthems, which have become the trademark style we love from Old TK. Thanks Toby!

Though fans shouldn't mistake this various-artists soundtrack for the next Toby Keith album, the music for Keith's star-turn film (also featuring Kelly Preston, Burt Reynolds, and Willie Nelson) builds from reflective balladry to unbridled, triumphant rock. It may be hard to separate the thematic sequencing from the movie it accompanies, but the soundtrack itself tells a story. It begins with Keith's melancholy, violin-drenched duet with Lindsey Haun on the title track; progresses through the spiritual uplift of a revival of "Uncloudy Day" that finds Willie Nelson and BeBe Winans joining Keith, as well as Sonya Isaacs's testament to faith on "The Battlefield" (with harmonies by Vince Gill); and culminates in the rambunctious "Big Bull Rider," the bluesy boogie of "Zig Zag Stop," and the full-throttle rock 'n' roll of the closing "Jacky Don Tucker (Play by the Rules, Miss All the Fun)." Matraca Berg, Fred Eaglesmith, and Keith's running buddy Scotty Emerick are among the others contributing tracks.
