Free Music Notes for Death ProofFree Music Review: Astounding Hit: 5 StarsOne listen and you're hooked. At least 6 songs that are fantastic that there's no way I would have encountered without QT. Thanks man, should I expect any less?
Free Music Review: Coasters question Hit: 4 StarsAnother entertaining soundtrack by Tarantino - well worth having. I'm curious about the version of the Coasters' "Down In Mexico" though. It's very different from the one on "Very Best of the Coasters." I can't tell if it's just remixed or another version entirely. I hope some R&B expert can comment on that. Finally, though, another great collection of very diverse sounds.
Free Music Review: Once Again Hit: 5 StarsOnce again, Tarantino offers us a soundtrack with "dialogue clips" that we will listen to over and over again. Buy it. It belongs in your "Tarantino" soundtrack collection right next to all the others.
Free Music Review: Main Title Music is from "Village Of the Giants" (1965) Hit: 5 StarsAlthough its called "The Last Race" the opening title music is actually from the old film "Village Of the Giants" (1965) with Tommy Kirk Beau Bridges and Joy Harmon (she washed the car in "Cool Hand Luke") which also had a Jack Nitsche score...don't know if its re-recorded or just the original.
Free Music Review: Terrible film - Brilliant Soundtrack Hit: 5 StarsTarantino may have lost his way in terms of his writing in this movie, but the disappointing 'DEATH PROOF' is partially redeemed by a wonderful soundtrack which as usual is an entertaining mixed bag of the familliar and the obscure. Foremost is 'Baby it's you' by Smith, which sounds even better without having to watch the skanky Jungle Julia dance to it. As usual I'll probably be spending more money chasing down more material by the artists featured by Tarantino. This soundtrack deserved to be on a better movie!
