As a music lover from the age of rock and roll to today's eclectic range, I found this soundtrack both lyrically and musically captivating, soothing, original, and very, very real...The simple piano background and the unique vocal quality of the lead singers Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova can be listened to over and over...especially the first two songs. I play it every day and never tire of the beauty and simplicity of the words and the music. Don't miss the DVD "Once", either. My favorite movie of 2007, by far.....and emotional,timeless, musical journey....Free Music Review: I love this music!

The story in this movie is entertaining though if you don't like music, don't bother.
But I do love music and have been searching for a reason to sing again. The music on this is exactly what i needed to hear. It's almost angelic to me; the harmonies are so good. The words spark my intellect. Glen's vocals are absolutely strong and solid. He makes me want to sing out as much as listening to Marketa does.
Thanks to everyone who made their albums possible! I am a new supporter of this groups work and will do my best to share the experience.

I enjoy listening to Once so much that I recently ordered it as a birthday gift for a close friend. I had my own copy which I have listened to over and over for the past umpteen months. All the songs are mellow with the exception of Broken Hearted Hoover Fixer Sucker Guy which is short and sweet. I was rooting for the song off the album, Falling Slowly, during the Academy Awards and was thrilled that it won an Oscar for Marketa Irglova and Glen Hansard. You won't regret ordering this CD and while you're at it, get the DVD too!

A local newspaper writer had written a column regarding the movie ONCE which intrigued me. It only played in our rural area for a short time, so I didn't get to see it. But I took his enthusiasm to Amazon and purchased the album, and was not disappointed. It is delightful, easy, rythmical, and not tiresome. Some songs even bring back hints of the sound of an early Cat Stevens. I look forward to acquiring the movie, but in the meantime, I shall listen many times. The soundtrack to "Once" is brilliant! The vocals by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova are brilliant! Their chemistry together is outstanding. The best movie soundtrack of the year.
