Free Music Notes for The Prince Of Egypt: Music From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Free Music Review: Great for anyone
Hit: 5 Stars

My parents were quite surprised when their eighteen year old daughter asked for this CD especially when she mostly listens to alternative music. However I love this CD the music transcends all ages and is sure to be embraced by music lovers of all types. I always think the original movie versions are better then the pop versions that are moree often played on the radio. I think this is certainly true in this case where "There can be miracles" in my opinion is better on the movie version then in the Mariah Carey Whitney Houston version. I would recommend this CD to anyone. All my friends male and female, my parents, and younger siblings all enjoy this CD.

Free Music Review: We need more passionate music like this.....
Hit: 5 Stars

With all the hype that this film has brought, I partially expected to be disappointed with this soundtrack. I cannot say enough about the amazing detail that went into this score. Hans Zimmer can easily challenge John Williams any day. The song that hit me hard was "Deliver Us". This is the obvious opening to the movie that is reminiscent of "Circle of Life" from The Lion King but this delivers so much punch that paying $7.00 to see the movie is worth it just to see this opening. Yes the vocals are wonderful but I cannot get over the genious that went into making this score. Congratulations Dreamworks, you've done it.....

Free Music Review: Brillent movie, brillent music-except the pop-singer parts.
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought the soundtrack right after I saw the movie. Music is the part of the success of this movie. So powerful. The down part is the pop singers. They don't fit into the soundtrack at all. They just put them in to boost sales. The Mariah Carey and Whitney version of "When you believe" is distracting. My favorite song is the Pfeiffer and Dworshky version(Track 14). The voice is so pure yet powerful. This track alone is enough for the money I paid. I don't see any point of puting pop singers into the soundtrack. They are not doing anything, only distracting. Their contemporary sound fits oddly within this exotic atmosphere.

Free Music Review: Surpassed my expectations
Hit: 5 Stars

Many parts of this soundtrack are brilliant. The bulk of the music sounds like a Broadway musical. Maybe I'm getting old, but the tracks that fail are the not the ones done by the actors but are the ones done by pop artists. Although Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey warble less than usual on this, their efforts are still a bit overdone. I agree with others that Michelle Pfeiffer's version of When You Believe is better than the pop divas' version. Among the known singers, Amy Grant soars above the rest with a beautiful job on River Lullaby. As others have noted, Deliver Us is a spectacular track. Overall this CD is very very good.

Free Music Review: Nice songs, Wonderful score by Hans Zimmer
Hit: 5 Stars

The Prince Of Egypt is an animated movie soundtrack and as such it is replete with songs, but unlike most other animated soundtracks, The Prince Of Egypt contains much of Hans Zimmer's understated score. THe songs are fine and some are interesting, but Hans Zimmer's score is exceptional. While many of his scores are action oriented, Zimmer combines the exotic sounds of the Middle East with an inspiring score. His theme for God is one of the most beautiful that Zimmer has ever written. The only complaint I have is that the cd producers could have written off the contemporary versions of the movie songs at the end and added more score.
