Free Music Notes for Cinderella (1957 Television Cast)Free Music Review: Pure Perfection! Hit: 5 Stars
This is the best of all three versions of the Rodgers and Hammerstien Cinderella. That includes the 1965 and 1997 remakes. The orchestrations are great, and the singing is wonderful. If you saw the 1997 version air on the Wonderful World of Disney and liked it, wait 'till you here this grand and catchy memorable recording. It was in my head for months! Just check out the 'Overture' excerpt above. You'll see what I mean with 'catchy'!
Free Music Review: An overlooked treasure! Hit: 5 Stars
Why isn't this wonderful recording better known? Rodgers & Hammerstein and Julie Andrews are known to be a very successful team, and anyone who loves the Sound of Music recording will love this too. Perhaps there is snobbery about this being a television presentation, as this album doesn't get the attention of Broadway shows or movie soundtracks but is better than most of them.
Free Music Review: Pure Excellence! Hit: 5 Stars
This recording of "Cinderella" starring Julie Andrews is the best version of this show by far. The sound quality of this CD is exceptional and the performances are outstanding. It sounds as if it was recorded just yesterday. Julie's performance of "When You're Driving Through the Moonlight/Lovely Night" is pure jubilation. You'll listen to this CD over and over.
Free Music Review: This will date me! Hit: 5 Stars
I remember watching the original broadcast live (I believe it was live) and loving it. After all these years, I still do.
And I laughed to find out Jon Cypher was the police commissioner on Hill Street Blues. Took me a long time to wrap my head around that one.
a great album of a memorable event!
Free Music Review: My daughter's put this 1st on their Christmas lists! Hit: 5 Stars
My daughers (age 10 and 6) just love this music. Both had it #1 on their Christmas lists! My 6yr old dances though the house singing "Impossible" and "The Prince if Having A Ball". I was so pleased to find this CD and even happier when I realized it was the Julie Andrews version. Just wonderful!
