the first time i heard otis i had no idea who he was - he was just another performer at the king biscuit blues festival in 2000. needless to say, i really liked his performance. i wouldn't classify him as strictly a blues artist - imho there's quite a bit of folk in this cd as well. i bought a prerelease copy of this cd from him at the festival, which i doubt differs much from the released version, so i highly recommend it. my favorite tracks are the first two - "my soul's in louisana" and "resurrection blues". i later bought his previous cd, which is more electric. of the two, i prefer this one, which is more acoustic. friends of mine who have heard it were also impressed. too bad there aren't any samples to listen to. maybe amazon will get around to it someday.
