Free Music Notes for Happiness Is Not a Fish That You Can CatchFree Music Review: Okay, it's not that good Hit: 3 StarsThe only good songs are the ones we've already heard! That's why I sold the cd. Our Lady Peace is just one of those bands who puts out all their good songs and has a whole wack of bad songs on the rest of the cd! I hope Gravity is better, cause their Canadians, and they deserve respect, and I respect them, cause Canadians ROCK! So DO AMERICANS! But please, try to avoid this album, and Clumsy, Naveed are the same way, Spiritual Machines, I haven't really heard anything on it, except the obvious 2, so I couldn't say, but I think Somewhere Out There is a great song so I sense some improving with OLP, besides, their due to have a good one soon, they RULE!
Free Music Review: Our Lady Peace Rocks Hit: 5 Stars"Happiness...Is Not A Fish That You Can Catch" by Our Lady Peace is one of my favorite albums of all time. it is simply amazing, i cannot go one day without listening to it at least once. i highly recomend it for anyone who even vaugely considers them selfs a fan of OLP, and it's defanently a must have for the more serious fans like myself. i don't even know how to explain how, or why i love this album so much, except to say that OLP is just one of the best bands i have ever heard. for me stand out tracks on this album are all of them, but to narow it down a little, here are a few realy stand out tracks..... "Happiness and the Fish", "Potato Girl", "Blister", "Is Anybody Home", "Waited" and especialy "Thief", "Annie", and "Stealing Babies". i know that i have just named almost every song on the album, but mabye i should have, this entire C.D. is amazing ...
Free Music Review: OLP's Best Hit: 5 StarsAfter two cracks at developing their own sound, Our Lady Peace finally found its niche with "Happiness...". If you listen to "Naveed" and "Clumsy", you can really hear the band gradually shaping itself into the OLP you hear here. The melodies are infectious, the musicianship is incredible, and OLP's sound is finally one that is all its own. Raine's ability to use his voice as an extra instrument was finally perfected for this album, and after a few listens you really start to get frustrated that you can't hit the same notes as him to sing along. That is how catchy all of these songs are. Jeremy Taggart's drumming is excellent as usual, but he uses it to better effect here than on any other OLP album. Every song is excellent here and this album deserved a lot more credit from both the critics and the masses than it has gotten. Those unfamiliar to the band should check out this disc first. I guarantee that after a few listens you will be back on Amazon ordering "Clumsy" and "Spiritual Machines". This is one of the better albums released in the late 90's and should be a staple in most music lover's collection.
Free Music Review: Happiness in this review Hit: 4 StarsAfter two successful albums, Our Lady peace hit the world with what is, in my opinion, their best work to date. Showing amazing artistic growth from Clumsy and serving as the perfect segue into what would be their most artistic, daring project, 'Spiritual machines'. From the first track(coincidentally the first single) One man Army on, this album shines. While Raines' voice can work wonders, at times it can grate.Stand out tracks are Blister, Waited, Stealing babies, Potato Girl, happiness and the fish, One man army, thief, Is anybody home and a song I recently dug up and love..Annie. Perhaps it would be easier to mention the songs that don't jump out at me, they're not bad by any means, in fact they are better than most songs on Clumsy but just not as good as the others. The album is cohesive yet has enough layers to have you coming back for more and like Annie, is full of treasures you'll not pick up up on the firt listen.
Free Music Review: Great CD!! Hit: 5 StarsHappiness is Not a Fish That You Can Catch is a wonderful cd by a great band. The songs are heartfelt , the vocals are moving, and the lyrics are feeling and expressive. If you like good music buy this cd! If youve heard OLP's recent songs and you arent sure you like them this is much better!
