Free Music Review: This is arguably one of their best!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is probably one of their best albums yet. It sounds very reminiscent of some of their older music, nothing like Gravity which was a disappointment as an album, with more evolution to it.

This is my favorite band, and they made it even more obvious as to why they're known as the "thinking man's band" with songs like "Angels/ Losing/ Sleep", "Will the Future Blame Us", "Picture", Al Genina (Leave the Light On)", "Walking In Circles", "Love and Trust", "Apology" and "Wipe that Smile Off Your Face". Hell all the songs on the CD are good, I'm still having a hard time figuring out which song I like the best. "Wipe that Smile..." is one that comes to mind, as it's a very well crafted song it gives me chills every-time I hear it, same with "Angels". "Apology" however may steal the show as one of the best songs, as it's such a relaxed song that you could almost listen to it for 25 minutes straight. "Boy" is also a good song, it reminds me of something from mid/late '80s U2 ... you know, when U2 actually had depth and meaning to their lyrics. "World on a String" is a very awkward but catchy song, the melody almost seems cheesy, but the lyrics are so meaningful, which is one of OLPs trademarks, catch you with happy/off balance sounding melodies but then making you think with the lyrics.

In closing, if you're a fan, or not, but you were a bit disappointed in "Gravity", pick this album up today! It's one of the best yet. I actually pre-ordered it, and it got to me Friday, and it hasn't left the CD player yet. Unlike Gravity where I tend to skip through certain songs to get to some of the better ones, I never found myself doing that with any of their albums until then either, and guess what? I don't skip any songs with "HIPT", this is an awesome album. Buy it and see for yourself.

Free Music Review: By far one of the most underrated bands
Hit: 5 Stars

Despite little radio coverage in the states, Our Lady Peace has been writing and playing amazing music for over ten years. Their newest album has not fallen short of expectations and standards placed by past albums, such as "Clumsy" and "Happiness...Is Not A Fish That You Can Catch" and returning fans will not be disappointed. Songs such as "Picture," "Angels/Losing/Sleep," and "Wipe That Smile Off Your Face" showcase the growth and maturity of the band experianced after the addition of new guitarist Steve Mazur shortly before the release of "Gravity." Each and every song has something about it that makes it really stand out. There is NO FILLER MATERIAL. "World on a String" is one of the catchiest tunes I've heard in years and songs like "Where Are You" and "Will the Future Blame Us" became instant favorites. I kid you not, this CD has not left my stereo for two weeks.

In my mind, the album falls short in only one area, its length. Twelve songs was simply not enough for me; I would have listened to a three-disk release if all the songs had been of the same quality as the others already present on "Healthy In Parnoid Times." This is a truly amazing album, and leaves me wishing I could somehow get my hands on MORE music from this incredible group.

On the other hand, if good music isn't your thing...you could always spend the money on roughly four gallons of gas.

Free Music Review: A Must-Have album!!
Hit: 5 Stars

There aren't enough words to describe how absolutely amazing this album is!!! Healthy In Paranoid Times is probably the best album that Our Lady Peace has made and that's hard to do, because all of their albums are so great! I got this album the day it was released and it hasn't come out of my cd player yet. This is the rare kind of album that you don't ever have to skip a song, you can just let it play in its entirety, over and over, and it never gets old. Healthy In Paranoid Times is a must have, it took the guys a very long time to make, but it was time WELL spent!!! If you are already a fan or not, this is the perfect any day, any time, ANY mood cd. It is impossible not to connect with the lyrics and get absolutely lost in the music. Our Lady Peace is brilliant and really know great music, I feel they don't get the recognition in the United States that they deserve. It's hard to say what my favorite song from this album is, because they are all so perfect...but if I had to choose, I would say "'Pictures," "Apology," and "Where Are You." The album is very well laid out....from beginning to end....there aren't any suggestions I could make for this album and I own every Our Lady Peace album....Great job guys!!!!!

Free Music Review: Our Lady Peace becomes even more refined
Hit: 5 Stars

When i first listened to it it was clearly Our Lady Peace, my favourite band, but seeing as i didn't know the music i sat there entranced. To begin with it was too hard to differentiate between songs when you've never heard any of it and it's just in the background, but then after listening once through it was even more exciting.
As time has gone on, Our Lady Peace has become more and more refined and this new album is no exception. Ultimately beautiful and melodic, it brings a new level to music that has been produced to perfection. Many would say that this is their best album yet, however i have to point out that sometimes slightly more raw music is the most interesting, i.e. their older, slightly more diverse music.
I still have to give this album the hightest rating available though, because it is an amzing album of perfected levels. With variation in pace and instrumental focus it would be hard to get bored of this music and when you know it well enough, it is a good choice for background music as it won't distract you.
Overall, i say that this is a further development in Our Lady Peace productions and deserves a lot of credit. Listen to the album!

Free Music Review: simply the best
Hit: 5 Stars

If you go to the Our Lady peace website, one of the first things you'll see is a message saying that the new album, "Healthy in Paranoid Times" took 1,165 days to record. This was time well spent. In a time when Pre-fabricated rock music rules the airwaves and bands that release albums 2 to 3 times a year, this album is a breath of fresh air. OLP decided to make the music that they wanted to make and in doing so created their best album to yet. They preserve the familiar sounds that make them great, and brought something back that rock music has been missing, a soul. You can really feel that the band members care about the music that they make.

The emotion that singer Raine Maida puts through in these songs is without compare. Weather it be the anger, and grim determination of "Wipe that Smile off your Face", or the hopeful, playfullness of "World on a String", he makes you feel what the song is about.

All in all, Our Lady Peace has been my favorite band for a long time. Their's is a music that I can identify with and they continue to impress. If you enjoy their music, then "Healthy in Paranoid Times" is a must have.
