Free Music Review: Stands with Spiritual Machines at OLP's very best.
Hit: 5 Stars

All the idiots posting one star reviews because of a bad CD rom feature need to delete or change their reviews. It's a bad logic kick in OLP's face to one star this Masterpiece over a CD rom mistake.

Every song on this album shines. The style is a completely new turn for OLP, but very good. Think of the melodic genius of Spiritual Machines mixed with the awesomeness of tracks like Annie and A story about a girl. If you're looking for their Hello Oskar or Naveed side you won't find it here, but you will find something special. Raine has never sounded so good as he does here.

Beutiful. Absolutely Beautiful. I suggest anyone out there reading this review go ahead and send in complaints about all the 1 star reviews that complain about the CD rom feature and don't genuinely have a problem with the music. People search Amazon and look at customer averages. Lets do our part and give this one at least a 4.5 average. Even if it's not your very favorite, this album does justice to the Our Lady Peace cataloge.

I really hope they release their next album soon.

Free Music Review: Another Hit Record for OLP
Hit: 5 Stars

Everyone has that one band, the one where you'll rush out and buy their new cd the day it's released, everytime. OLP is that band for me, they have been since "Naveed", and they haven't let me down yet (even considering "Spiritual Machines").

"Healthy in Paranoid Times" continues that winning streak. From the haunting, melodic opening of 'Angels/Losing/Sleep', to the rocking 1st single 'Where Are You', all the way through to the more mellow final track 'Al Genina (Leave the Light On)', all the tracks are just hits waiting to happen.

Despite evolving with each cd, OLP has managed to keep their unique sound intact. Raine Maida's vocals are as distinctive and evocative as ever, and Steve Mazur continues to impress with his incredible guitar work.

Easily one off the best Canadian bands ever, OLP is still sadly underappreciated, but they are steadily gaining ground and this offering will certainly turn the heads of the uninitiated and earn them many new fans the world over.

Free Music Review: Relevant In Modern Times
Hit: 5 Stars

Our Lady Peace has always been unfairly under the radar in the United States. This album absolutely proves that OLP is, and should be, relevant in America. 'Healthy' is the band's most mature release to date. I, also, feel it is their best album yet. The music is solid beginning to end and Raine's subject matter is VERY relevant. I, personally, especially liked the fact that I didn't fall in love with the album after one listen. That told me this album was deeper and more complex. It was going to take more effort to "get it", more of a challenge. NOW, I love this album. I've heard every major release this year, and most of the less major releases, and this is definitely my favorite album of the year. Notable tracks: "Angels Losing Sleep", "Will The Future Blame Us", "Where Are You", "Apology" and "World On A String"....hell all the tracks are notable. Just buy the album.

Free Music Review: Excellent CD
Hit: 5 Stars

In most cases, when you purchase an entire CD, you expect to not like a few of the songs the first time you listen to them, let them "grow on you." This is not the case for HIPT. The first song, boom, amazing. The second song, awesome. The third song...you get the picture. Nearly all the tracks have a lot of meaning behind them and you can tell the band put their hearts and enlightened minds into making this album. It is by far one of the best first listens I've ever had. I would not discredit the album simply because of its Enhanced status, it probably wasn't the band's choice, more like the record label. In summary, the first song is my favorite and ever since I bought it, I haven't removed it from my CD player. OLP Fans or even new fans will be extremely pleased with this album.

Free Music Review: Worth the Wait
Hit: 5 Stars

I'll admit I was a little nervous about the release of this CD. The reviews I read led me to believe it was going to be disappointing, and after waiting 3 years, that's not what I wanted to hear. Luckily, Healthy in Paranoid Times is amazing! I think OLP really brought back a lot of the same style that they had in Clumsy and HINAFTYCC Gravity was good, but I think HIPT far surpasses it. I think the difference in the lyrics and tone of the songs are due to all the horrible things going on the world today. OLP is a very socially conscious and active band, so their music is obviously going to be a response to a lot of these things that are going on. I personally think we need more bands like OLP out there! I strongly reccommend this album to any fan of creative, talented musicians!!!
