Free Music Review: The Love Below (only) - A unique listening experience

Outkast's new album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below is without a doubt the musical event of the year. It was talked about long before it hit stores and is finally here. It has been said by many that there has never been a truly successful hip-hop double album, so what about this? I don't know. The only disc I've listened to is Andre's disc, The Love Below, and I will put out a review of Speakerboxxx once I listen to it. I believe that this is the best way as the two albums are really solo albums and Andre's disc is produced entirely by him. Andre "Andre 3000" Benjamin may someday provide the blueprint for hip-hop artists that seek to really evolve and change their whole way of doing things. (not that I have any problem with straight up hip-hop) Andre is apparently getting very into jazz and has taken up the saxophone and plays that as well as guitar on this album. This album can be said to be truly his vision as there are few guests. The influence of jazz is immense on this album and of course the presence of Prince and George Clinton is deeply felt as well. This album finds some of the most creative production and some of the most creative lyrics as well. This album manages to be really adventurous as well as being very accessible (to me anyways). This album includes handclaps, acoustic guitar, synthesizer arpeggios, talking to God about head, philosophy, improvisation, lyrics about booty, and most of all, songs about relationships and love. The sound seems to vary so much over the course of this album, but is its own music. It's funky, jazzy, free, beautiful, real down to Mars kind of music. I don't want to give away any lyrics or go into to too much detail because this was an amazing musical experience for me.
Well, with Andre's video for "Hey Ya!" topping TRL these days, I can only hope that some of the people watching it will pick up this album and get their minds blown wide open and just enjoy it.
