Free Music Notes for Essential Ozzy OsbourneFree Music Review: A Pretty Good Compilation Hit: 4 StarsFirst off, I like how the music was fairly evenly distributed. However, there were more songs from "Blizzard of Ozz" & "No More Tears" than the others, and the extras from those could have been used for something from "The Ultimate Sin". It's understandable though since Ozzy doesn't like that album, and he has every right not to like and not to include it, since it's his music. "The Ultimate Sin" isn't that bad of a CD though, except for Shot In The Dark. It's a terrible track in my opinion, and though I can't explain why, I'll just say it doesn't seem like it's a song that should have came from Ozzy. There was a few tracks that didn't need to be on there (Rock 'n' Roll Rebel, I Don't Want To Change The World (Live), No Easy Way Out), but that's just my opinion, and it all depends on people tastes in music. Most of the tracks are good though, and I'm pretty pleased with the CD. Following the trend, here's what my version of "The Essential Ozzy Osbourne" would have looked like (You won't see any songs originally by Black Sabbath on here because in my eyes they belong on a Black Sabbath compilation, or on Speak/Talk of The Devil): *Disk 1* 01 - I Don't Know 02 - Crazy Train (realistically you can't not include it) 03 - Goodbye To Romance 04 - Dee 05 - Mr. Crowley 06 - Revelation (Mother Earth) 07 - You Lookin' At Me Lookin' At You 08 - You Said It All (Live) 09 - Flying High Again 10 - You Can't Kill Rock And Roll 11 - Diary of A Madman 12 - Bark At The Moon 13 - Centre of Eternity 14 - So Tired 15 - Slow Down 16 - Killer of Giants 17 - Shot In The Dark (from Just Say Ozzy) *Disk 2* 01 - Miracle Man 02 - Fire In The Sky 03 - Hero 04 - The Liar 05 - Mama, I'm Coming Home 06 - No More Tears 07 - S.I.N. 08 - Time After Time 09 - Road To Nowhere 10 - Mrs. J 11 - Ghost Behind My Eyes 12 - Old L.A. Tonight 13 - Aimee 14 - Back On Earth 15 - Dreamer 16 - You Know...(Part 1) 17 - Running Out of Time 18 - A brand new song that leaves a great ending. Notice I included a lot of the extras and B-sides (You Lookin' At Me Lookin' At You, You Said It All, The Liar, Mrs. J, Aimee). They're all great songs.
Free Music Review: good.....not great Hit: 4 Starsok...think of this cd as an ozzy starter set. if you have never heard ozzy before then you will absolutly love this cd. if you already have alot of ozzy albums, then you might wana skip this one. some of my favorite songs are Crazy Train, I Dont Want To Change The World (which is frigin asome), I'm Comin Home, Miracle Man, and a ton of others. paranoid is a good song too.. but its much better on the black sabbath Past Lives album. if you have never heard ozzy before, you should know that alot of his music is pretty "pop-ish", which is different from his black sabbath stuff... but both are great. BOTTOM LINE...IF YOU ARE NEW TO OZZY...BUY THIS CD!!!
Free Music Review: Awesome collection of Ozzy's solo career! Hit: 5 StarsThis collection of Ozzy songs is absolutely wonderful. When I bought the CD I knew very few songs by Ozzy(Crazy Train, Flying High Again, Paranoid, Mama I'm Coming Home, No More Tears), but this collection is so good, now I love nearly every song on the album. Whether it's the early stuff with Randy Rhoads (Crazy Train, Mr. Crowley, I Don't Know, Over the Mountain), Bark at the Moon with Jake E. Lee, or the newer stuff with Zakk Wylde (No More Tears, I Just Want You, Miracle Man) everything is awesome. I highly recommend this to anyone who's a fan of metal/hard rock. It's simply this best Ozzy collection one could want!
Free Music Review: Essential Ozzy Hit: 5 StarsThis has alot of songs on it that span several years of his career. Some of the songs are live and it really jams.
Free Music Review: most, not all, of the essentials Hit: 4 StarsWhat? No Iron Man? That's like my favorite Ozzy (or Sabbath) song! If you're gonna include "Paranoid", you gotta include "Iron Man"!! Still, this is a good, though not great, compilation spanning from the whole generation (30 years) from the '70s when Ozzy started out with Sabbath, to now. In the '80s he was the world's best-known devil-worshipper without even being one. He was also the first rock star who became both bolemic and anorexic in one lifetime. This age-old tenor has a brilliant voice and sense of harmony in his singing and vocal melodies. His early masterpiece "Bark at the Moon" remains my favorite song of his. The secret of his longevity in the music biz, he says, is that he changes band members like most of us change shirts. Well I guess it's worked out for him, he's still makin' good albums. I give this 4 stars rather than 5 only because the classic Iron Man is missing. What an oversight!
