Free Music Review: Cd of 2008

(First things first - I'm not writing this to be popular with you all, I'm writing it to praise POD, real music, and the few laymen like me out there sifting through oceans of crap looking for what's real.)
This cd is great. The best of 08. Marcos is the man, and you can tell the band is back in a good place, that being as friends making real music.
If you do not feel something during "It Can't Rain Everyday", then you must be Keanu Reeves long lost brother. This shows that at least one band in a world full of emo, phony, and other worthless crap is still keeping it real. Sonny lays down solid lyrics, proving not every band has nothing to say (ie, Nickelback, Chevelle and all their offspring). This is what Sevendust wanted to accomplish with its last effort, but not only did they rush it, their guitarist fell far short (perhaps fell asleep during a few tracks) and the lyrics were probably aided by whatever lyricist-for-hire writes Korn's and a large number of other band's wannabe songs. Two top-notch guest artists shows they didn't need to dig into the conventional mainstream and go after Daughtry. The fact that they remember rock's roots and keep a solid flow throughout shows that they have not sold out to the dryness of Trent Reznor and all his followers. The fact that they haven't turned into sissies who wear women's clothing shows that they aren't Linkin Park.
The fact that some people are on here crying for no reason show that yes, most people won't recognize true artistic creativity, even if it was recommended to them by their secret crush, Ryan Seacrest.
Personally, if I hear a reviewer with sense, I want them to tell me similar artists to look into, so I'll do that for any cool dude out there who is hoping for such.
If you like the guitarist, check out his other band that should've been huge to (as I predicted it would be, but he came back to POD, ultimately a dream come true - and he may continue this other band later): The Accident Experiment.
If you're wondering what the cd of 2007 was, it was Hed PE's Insomnia. Neurosis' Given to the Rising was either a 07 or 08 release, and it was very good. Sevendust's Alpha was great. "Through the Glass" by Stone Sour, "Beware do we Go" by Hed PE (on their Back to Base X disc), and "Lie" by Black Light Burns created my official Songs of the (past few) Summer(s). As for lesser known bands you can research on myspace, Karnivool, Grade 8, 3rd Strike (yep, they're back), Bobaflex, and Index Case.
Oh, and "Insanity is just a thought away" from God Forbid is an awesome line.
