Free Music Review: a different side

to the band known as P.O.D. and some might find that's too much of a change and while i tend to be a little worried when bands do that. Its not the case with this one. It's a pretty solid effort all the way through minus a couple bumps along the road. I didnt like "Roman Empire" not sure what was up with this one, it's not really that long but still qualifies as a song at about 2 minutes 40 some seconds.
It starts off with a solid opener in "Addicted" which should be released as their next single, if it hasn't been already. Other tracks that should get some play time include:

Condescending
Kaliforn-Eye-A
Tell Me Why
Rise Against
This Ain't No Ordinary Love Song
while this isn't the POD that must of have come to know and love. I feel that if you give this one a few more listens you'll find its just as enjoyable and fun to listen throughout. I'm glad that the guys are back and reunited with an old bandmate.

Free Music Review: P.O.D. Is starting over - In a good way!

P.O.D. Is back! No, it's not Satellite - but WA-ASD is a raw, hard, and full throttle new album from P.O.D. - The lyrics Sonny screams remind me much of Testify, while Marcos guitar in the background remind me much of Fundamental Elements of Southtown. Alot of people we're excited thinking that this album would be "Satellite II" with the come back of Marcos Curiel, but thats not P.O.D.'s style - seeing as none of their albums sound alike. This isn't my favorite album of P.O.D. but It's certainly a step up from Testify. The band has had it's low points in the past 2 albums - but I see them coming back on top with this album, and the albums to come.
Songs worth listening too:
End of the world - An solid song, much like System of a Downs "Lonely Day" It tells of end times - and the world as it's getting worse.
God Forbid - The hardest track on the album by far, the song features Page Hamilton. 2 thumbs up.
When Angels & Serpents Dance - Obviously the title track, but it's by far one of the catchiest songs on the album.
Overall - P.O.D. fans should enjoy this album. It's not the greatest, but it has it's good aspects.

WA&SD is to me one of the best cds P.O.D. has done. I'm not one who likes to compare previous releases with newer releases. However I do like it when I hear bands evolve themselves through the art of music. P.O.D. has done a great job giving us warriors the kind of music we can appreciate. Songs like Addicted brings back the same kinda vibe that Set It Off did from Satellite. And This Is No Ordinary Love Song, Tell Me Why shows that not only does Sonny have a great screaming voice, he also has a great singing voice. Anyone who has an open heart to great music then can appreciate the kind of music P.O.D. brings to the table. No matter what form it may be. Buy When Angels and Serpents Dance and you'll hear for yourself how tightly woven this band has become. Free Music Review: Thanks Marcos for being back!

Well... when you take the cd out of the box and you put it on your cd player or copy it to your ipod or walkman you are not prepared to hear something so good from the begining. When you hear addicted and then you realize that all the songs that come after it are as great as it, you begin to understand why P.O.D has been out many years... Is not something against Truby, he is a grat guitarist, but not the one for POD. Marcos gives the band its soul again! The band that we miss from the old days of FEOS and Satellite is back and reloaded. It has new vibes, even new influences (I heard some "U2's Edge like" guitars in the album... i'm not going to tell you the song, find it out!). This album is refreshing and i recomend every rock fan to buy it!! you are not going to be dissapointedFree Music Review: What happened??????

So what hpappened to POD??? I went out Tuesday and bought 10 copies for my friends......9 of them took it back and the other one threw his in the garbage. This is NOT the POD that I have come to love and admire. It is bogged down with filler after filler after filler. Disappointed would be an understatment. The critics may like it......but dare I say...the critics do NOT buy the music. What a waste my hard earned dollar. I think they better do some more talking to the angels. nuff said.
