Free Music Review: Pretty Amazing Comeback!
Hit: 5 Stars

I did not consider myself a Panic fan...until this album! This is probably one of the best albums I have heard in a very long time. The songs are fun and catchy and if you can resist singing along, then there must be something wrong with you! What really made this album such a great comeback album is the new predominant use of instrumentals that wasn't there before. Each song is so unique because the instruments play such a big role in making the sound. The vocals are great and this time Ryan is singing along too! His voice really complement's Brendan's. The lyrics are also really fun and at times even amusing. All I have to say is that I have been listening to this album for the last week and it hasn't gotten old. The songs are pretty mellow, but they are also great to rock out to so it's a nice medium of sounds. And the album's name does it justice, in a good way. The lyrics are pretty odd and the songs are about sort of random things; it has a kind of fairytale feel to it that's really cool! I didn't even buy this for myself and now I find myself only wanting to listen to this one album! I definitely recommend listening to this even if you were not a Panic fan before and definitely if you are a Panic fan! They have really matured musically...their new sound is awesome! This album deserves an A+++!

Free Music Review: Panic Evolves!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

First, this is not the type of Panic you are used to. Their first album was a mix of youthful self-loathing and wonderful truthful lyrics. All in all, it was amazingly original. "Odd" however is an evolution of sorts. People loved the freshman album and tend to want every other album to be extensions of the first; a continuation. Instead we get treated to something completely different. Still keeping their "Panic" style harmonies and lyric melodies we find out exactly what would happen if Sgt. Pepper had a much younger and hipper sister who just happened to like the austere sounds of Emo. For me, the formula works. There is just about something here for everyone. With a bit of big band, swing, country, and even a harpsichord, Panic! somehow manages to recreate themselves as few bands have before by blending genres. Die-hard fans of the Panic! or Beatles might be disappointed however. People seeking either the new Beatles or the old Panic should just purchase those albums. "Odd" is simply an experiment into other forms not typically associated with current music or trends. Luckily, I found just about every song here enjoyable. If I had never heard of Panic! before today and picked up "Odd" before knowing their previous sound, I still would have enjoyed it just as much.

Free Music Review: Pretty freaking amazing.
Hit: 5 Stars

Pretty. Odd.
In theory I shouldn't like this album. I don't like the Paul McCartney Beatles stuff, its too fluffy. That being said I love this album. I even liked it from the first listen. It even took me a few listens to enjoy Brand New's Deja Entendu which is a classic.

This is not for fans that will hate any type of progression in a band. This is not a fever you can't sweet out. If you don't like Thrice's new albums you won't like this. If you can't appreciate Houses of the holy you will want to pass on this.

Fever was a really dark album about loss and heartache. This album for the most part is about having a more positive outlook on a world that you have very little control over (Do you know what I am seeing). I liked Fever I love Pretty. Odd.

If you are a music fan however this album is for you. Yes there are some Beatle influences here but this is still Panic at the Disco and they are on fire. Do you know what I am seeing is the most deep and thought provoking song I have heard in a long time.

Thank you Panic at the Disco for not resting on your laurels and knocking this album out of the park.

Free Music Review: One of the Best Album's I have Heard in A While
Hit: 5 Stars

Let me start of by saying that I heard their first album's material and though it sucked big time. This record though is really good. I could not stand the singer's voice in the first album but the music and harmonies the band performs throughout Pretty Odd makes his voice likeable. It is really rare to find a band today singing optimistically, most are still emo, and by doing this they pretty much blew everything else out of the water.

The feel of the album is very psychedelic. The music gives a nod to the Beatles while still sounding original, the lyrics are almost as abstract as the stuff Van Dyke Parks wrote for the Beach Boys' SMiLe album and the harmonies remind me of the Zombies' Odessey and Oracle. Despite the noticeable influences Panic at the Disco manages to make Pretty Odd sound new, original and fresh which is saying alot considering bands in the past have attempted to do something similar to this but ended up sounding like cheap imitators. The whole piece works as an album, which is pretty impressive since most nowadays sound like singles with a bunch of filler, hear it from beginning to end and it creates a really good vibe. I can't recommend this album enough. Get it NOW.

Free Music Review: A Musical Adventure
Hit: 5 Stars

First and foremost before you listen to this album you must understand: THIS IS NOTHING LIKE PANIC'S FIRST ALBUM. If you are looking for the same thing as on "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" then don't even bother with this album. HOWEVER, if you claim to be a fan of music in general this album is an absolute must.
Now that's said, this album is AMAZING. It's obvious that Panic has became very heavily influenced by the Beatles (specifically their later work: Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's, Yellow Submarine, Magical Mystery Tour, etc.) This has helped Panic to create an album that is nothing short of a musical odyssey. Each song has its own unique sound and creates its own individual feeling in the listener. So if you let this album totally absorb you, its a complete mind trip that you won't soon forget.
A lot of people are going to bash this album because it's not only completely different from what Panic did on their first album, but its also completely different from what most musicians have been doing in the last 20+ years. Give this album a chance though because honestly this is one of craziest albums I have listened to in a long time.
