Free Music Review: Not What Guitar Musik Should Be About!!
Hit: 1 Stars

First off, all my friends know me as that crazy guy who likes all that guitar dominated musik, I say the wilder the better!! Well some of my friends are always giving me recommendations for new musik, and one day this silly looking guy with long greasy hair and a beer gut said I should look into this Pantera album if i wanted good guitar musik with a hard edge!! Even though I never saw them on MTV, TRL or herd their musik on the radio I still gave them a chance!! Wow, talk about noisy filth with no substance, this Pantera band is Panterrible, LOL!!! Haha!! The guitar player just strums fast without playing any memorbale hooks and I hope that wammy-bar wankery isn't passing for solo's, cuz its annoying to listen to!! The vocalist just growls on about how much he hates everything and how their band is gonna take over the world...yeah right buddy, no one will take you guys serious!! The bassist and drumber can't stay in time with each other for anything, they need to practice. Hopefully the guitar player practices some too, maybe he can get better and play good memorable guitar musik!! If you want to hear bands with GREAT guitar players, buy any album from KoRn, Hawthorne Heights, Good Charlotte, Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy, Green Day, Papa Roach, Atreyu, Death Cab For Cutie, Reliant K, All American Rejects and the hip-hop medal god, KIDD ROCK!!! forget Pantera, their nothing compared to these awesome bands!! Go Bengals!! Who-Dey!!!

Free Music Review: Definately not all its made out to be!
Hit: 3 Stars

This disc is definately not as good as people say. I guess if you havent listened to any of Metallicas early albums this cd might sound ok but........i just dont think its all that great. Dont get me wrong Dimebag Darrel was a killer guitarist and created some really awesome guitar riffs. Especially on the first track of this cd: "Cowboys From Hell." If you want some real good heavy music check out some of Metallicas earlty stuff. I start off by listening to "And Justice For All..." or "Master of the Puppets." Any of metallicas early stuff would be good to listen to, but these are the albums that originally drew me into Metallica. My favorite metallica album is "Ride the Lightening." Basically it would be best to save your money or buy a metallica cd. If you already own all of the early metallica cds go ahead and check this out. You'll see what i mean when i say THIS CD IS NOT GREAT!
but it is okay.

P.S. People have told me that "Vulgar Display of Power" is a much better Pantera cd. I dont really know, so i think i might check that out if i were you. I am. Well, good luck buying your Pantera cd!

Free Music Review: 4.5 stars, impressive debut
Hit: 4 Stars

Pantera's first full length debut after a string of 80s glam rock albums that are all but forgetten. This is where the guitar of Dimebag Darrel left the first and lasting impression on the metal world. Very surprisingly heavy well played American power metal from the Texas boys, before fame hit. Notice I say power metal, this is not thrash. Very heavy but not Slayer-like speed. The Priest influence is heard here more than any other release thereafter. Anselmo actually sings in this one, and you could tell his idol is Rob Halford. Vulgar Display of Power is alot heavier but this is different and is more of an ode to old school metal riffing than blow your brains out pounding that Vulgar and Far Beyond Driven are. For that fact it sticks out and is more original than those 2 albums. For fans of old school metal that dont need to have their brains blown out with every track. Quite satisfying, not much filler, a few of the later tracks I could do without, hence the 4 star rating. Rip Darrel Abbott.
