Free Music Review: They're Best Yet

Finally! Papa Roach has stepped up to the plate, and made a fantastic album. Believe me I loved Infest, and Lovehatetragedy, its just this cd has so much more depth and emotion. No rapping thank god! However I still like the Infest cd I was into the whole Limp Bizket (erg) trend when I bought it. Any ways to the album. Here is the tracks:
1. Blood (Empty Promises)-Great opener. Very upbeat and one of the best songs on the entire record. The guitar work in this song is really great. The drums also stand out (mostly in the chorus). What can I say? Its Fun, Its Fast, Its Great. 10/10
2. Not Listening - Nice Follow up. Papa Roach has had nice follow ups to their (always) strong openers. This is no exception. The guitar is very original and will fit the mood to the song very will. The song is one of my favorites, however doesn't stick with me as much as "Blood (Empty Promises)". STILL though, great song. 10/10
3. Stop Looking Start Seeing - Egh...Probably my least favorite on the disc. I like the flow on the verses its just the chorus is kind of hard to follow. Don't get me wrong this song is great its just doesn't live up to the rest. 7/10
4. Take Me - Wow. One of my favorites. The chorus is so catchy I sing it ALL THE TIME. I'm sure you will too. Jacoby is so creative with the way he write lyrics and choruses on this record. This is a prime example. Starts off pretty quick too. This song has been getting some airplay so I'm guessing this is their third single (YAY). Great song! 10/10
5. Getting Away With Murder - Okay. Usually I don't like title tracks. Usually I don't like first singles. This is an exception. This song is so rad. Weird guitar but it works. This song makes NO SENSE ha ha . Oh well the chorus makes up for it. I never get sick of this song suprisingly. 10/10
6. Be Free - Good song. Its really a curve ball thrown at you. Its hard yes, but reminds me of older rock. It sounds like a mix between audioslave, foo fighters, and papa roach (der). Jacoby's vocals are some what grunge on this song. Its great. Cool beat and everything. 9/10
7. Done With You - I know you guys are getting tired of it but....Great song..haha. The verses start up pretty quick. The chorus has alot of feeling and makes you really just want to lock the door and rock out. haha. Well people yes once again a 10/10
8. Scars - Okay unless you were buried underground for the past three months MAYBE you have not heard this song. It was really good when I first heard it. But now its the only song that got old to me. Its gotten so much airplay that I find myself skipping it. So ill do it like this Ill rate the song for when I first heard it, and now. First-10/10 Now-7/10
9. Sometimes - GREAT SONG. jp dudes. But yeah it is. Changes the pace for once with an ACOUSTIC beginning. Thats right kids this cd has a song that has ACOUSTIC VERSES. haha. Of course followed up with a heavy and catchy chorus. This is Papa Roach every song makes you just want to jump around. Kind of a nice change. Not my favorite but definitely shines in its own unique little way. 8.5/10
10 . Blanket Of Fear - Don't worry. If the last two songs have let you mellow out no need to worry. This song is made to KICK YOUR ASS. Its awesome. The lyrics are great the whole shabang. No need to go into details. 10/10
11.Tyranny of Normality - Okay people don't usually like this song in the other reviews. They complain that the chorus is too generic. True. It's great though. In my opinion one of the hardest songs on the record. I love it what can I say. I've had this cd for about a year and this still gets me juimping. 9/10
12. Do Or Die- Good song. I love the guitar riff its so catchy and awesome. The lyrics are good however I wish they would of put a more heavier song as the last track. This will leave you wanting more. Which is why I usually set it so the cd replays and then I can rock out again. Good song though. Meaningful and thoughtful. 9/10
Okay guys. I've had this cd for about a year now. I didn't just buy it, so thats not why I scored everything so high. This is how I really feel about the record. Even my mom and pop like it and they never like anything haha. Buy it. If your sketchy download 'Take Me' and 'Blood'. Two songs that pretty much give you and idea about what this record is about. By the way there is some dvd footage when you put the disc into your computer. Its pretty interesting it gives you a behind the scenes look on how they created the record and gives you some cool interviews on how the band feels about it. In conclusion "Getting Away With Murder" is a great piece to anyone's music collection. With every song rad in its own way you'll be wanting more. Don't let this one slip you up.
