Free Music Review: **Getting Away With Amazingness**
Hit: 5 Stars

This is truly the first album Ive ever heard that has ABSOULUTLY NO BAD SONGS, every song is wonderful. Definatly the best PApa Roach album yet im hoping to see what they come up with next time, maybe another no-skip-track-albums.

TRACKS-

1. Empty Promises
This is a very good intro to the album. From it's vocal variations to the melody changes it rocks out. A bit repetitive. The chorus sounds a little scruffy at first but after a while you get used to it. 9/10

2. Not Listening
Not listening has a more complicated guitar riff with a cool old school sound. The chorus can get annoying, good guitar work though. 7.5/10

3. Stop Looking/Start Seeing
This song a strong intro and first verse. Not to good chrous gets boring. This is probably the worst song on the album. (Not because it's bad, just because the other ones are even better). 7/10

4. Take Me
This is most catchy song. Most first-timers favorite. A very good song not special instrument work, but descent. Great powerfull bridge. Over time you'll learn that it can get quite old and there are better songs on the album. 9.5/10

5. Getting Away With Murder
The first single off the album.HAs the famous bass+dark guitar intro. Great video this is the reason i purchased the album- soon came to realize its one of the worst songs on the album. This will probably be the first song you'll ever skip. Not bad, just old. 8.5/10

6. Be Free
Most of the times i have owned this album, Be Free was my favorite song, definatly a great vocal job, good instrument backroudn work and the most powerfull song on the album, its loud, strong and pure rock and roll.Definatly one of my 3 favorites. 10/10

7. Done With You
Very good intro thatll keep you singing it. One of my personal favorite choruses. This song never seems to get old. But somethigns missing. 9.5/10

8. Scars
Well do i even have to explain to you about Scars?? I think you've all heard Scars-
This is the albums second single and a very very great song. Definatly the most touching lyrics straight from frontman JAcoby Shaddix's heart. A killer bridge shows how he can rock out his voice. 10/10

9. Sometimes
What can i say? Great? Amazing? Flawless? Papa roach at it's best? Well, all of the above. This song is what shows you what potential they really have. NOte, the only song on the album with a guitar solo that ain't too shabby AT all. It also has a unique intro , an acoustic unliek any other. From the variation of acoustic to electric guiatr and soft singing to heavy vocals to the bridge and solo, my favorite song. I know a lot of people will disagree but listen to the album a few times and if you really know anything about music what beats it? 10/10 (Cant relly go 11 can you?)

10. Blanket of Fear
This and the following are definatly two of the heaviest+ darkest songs on this album. Great original bridge + great chorus lyrics and vocals. Quite good intro. My third favorite tied with Scars and after Sometimes and Be Free.10/10

11. Tyranny of Normality
This song took me the longest to get in2. I actualy heard the start and skipped it , then i skipped it for weeks to comes. Untill one day i realised it was there and hey- this is Papa Roach how bad can it be? I listened and oh i did listen. I liked. THis song has a great intro, very good vocal variations from singing, screaming to whispering in the backround. The only flaw is the chorus. 9/10

12. Do or Die
The finisher for this masterpiece. A lot of people love love love this song. I agree, orginal very godo guitar main riff, emotional chorus, the only flaws are the vereses and the bridge is way to repetitive.
9/10

So there you have it. No go get it. You wont regret it.
(Notice some people like "ships ahoy" who go giving everyalbum 1 star r idiots because he thinks papa roach is emmo and he clearly knows nothing about music.)

Free Music Review: The "Papa" of Papa Roach's Albums
Hit: 5 Stars

"Last Resort" was quite possibly the catchiest single of 2000 and drew hundreds of thousands of people into Papa Roach's "Infest" experience. The album presented a solid eleven tracks of hard aggression and depression that had the ability to easily appease the common rocker.

Firmly establishing themselves in the industry, they released their second full album in 2002 titled "lovehatetragedy." Now when I first gave this CD a listen, I wasn't too pleased. But (as albums do these days) the more I listened, the more I liked. This offering had some flat-out fast, hard songs such as "M-80 (Explosive Energy Movement)" and "Single Indestructible Droid" while they also experimented with some melodic sounds on tracks like "Decompression Period" and "Black Clouds" (which personally were my two favorites), while the other seven just kind of fell somewhere inbetween. I enjoyed it, but the album sales showed I was one of few who believed Papa Roach still had it.

Now onto the star of the show. Papa Roach have returned once again with "Getting Away With Murder." This album is amazing! Their lyrics have taken a somewhat political curve which makes their music more diverse and interesting. Jacoby Shaddix delivers these poems with his distinct voice that could not possibly complement the music any better. Every Track seems to have a certain chemistry and overall sound that just surpasses anything they've previously done. Papa Roach seemlessly intertwined the soft/hard sound of "lovehatetragedy" and the in-your-face, solid rock from "Infest" and have created something truly magnificent.

"Blood (Empty Promises)" opens the album with an incredibly catchy guitar. "Not Listening" and "Stop Looking/Start Seeing" follow it with simple, fast, yelling melodies that tell you that your are in for a ride. Now the album hits full speed with "Take Me", a phenomenal track with Shaddix's best vocal performance ever and is my personal favorite on the album (if I had to pick one). The first single "Getting Away With Murder" follows and everyone knows this one's great. "Be Free" presents excellent drums through the verses, then explodes with great choruses while Shaddix's voice never slows down. "Done With You" has a great melody and sets you up perfectly for the slower songs on their way. "Scars" and "Sometimes" are standouts. Papa Raoch definitely proved they can go softer without consequence. Strong, emotionally-driven ballads that this album would not be complete without. Now we head back to the harder side for "Blanket of Fear" and "Tyranny of Normality": two powerful politically-influenced songs that do not disappoint. The closer "Do or Die" ends the CD with wonderfully inspiring lyrics and a very catchy chorus.

Papa Roach knew what they were doing this time and it showed. An album that flows perfectly with melodies that leave you hungry for more. If you are new to this band or if you were one of the many who rocked out to "Infest" and went "eeh, lovehatetragedy is ok i guess," pick this up. Satisfaction Guaranteed!

Free Music Review: Stop reading / Start listening (but still read my review)
Hit: 5 Stars

I know people we'll be disturbed because of the 5 stars rating
I completely understand that some of you will not like this cd, that others will find it lame, that others will finally find it awesome.
For my part I think it's a great cd (I'm a huge fan but I'll try to be objective here). But to understand my point of view we have to take it all back to the beginnig.
This is papa roach's third album in a major. It's been 5 years since they have been brought to our eyes (or ears like u want) by the media. W/ this album they haved finally proved that they have nothing to prove. Infest was great, what an album, hard riffs with "rap", it was new, it was good. Then came out LHT. Good album but not spectacular I admit it. But they showed their evolution in music. No more rap, only singing. As for the music, it didn't changed much, same sharp guitar riffs...But still, if u listen carefully to this album you'll noticed that something's missing, that the spark isn't there but that the machine has been turned on. We could say this was a concept album, a try.
Then, here we are, GAWM!!!!! Ok let me take my breath...Explosive, that's the word. Finally J.Shaddix has arrived to the point he wanted to reach. The point he couldn't reach in LHT because he didn't have the experience and the mental strength. There's nothing to say abt the vocals. Just great. Their musical formula has changed a bit (only "blanket of fear" and "tyranny of normality" follow the same path as the 2 first cd's). They explore new horizons here, that's why u probably heard this cd was more punkish or whatever (especially "be free")
So this new cd isn't just new because it came out not so long ago but also because PAPA RoACH is new. Of course it's not radical, they can't change what they are. U still recognize the old papa roach but this is more of an update, u still have the "foundations" of papa roach but the "design" if u want has changed.
As for the lyrics, always as touching, inspiring, revealing as before.
In a nutshell, PAPA ROACH has taken the same path as LHT and taking it to a higher level in order to bury LHT (that even they consider as weak) but keeping the intensive sound of Infest.
And I also saw them live (here in Paris, France so I don't get to see them as much as u do in the USA), and it was amazing. What a moment.
I'll finish by saying that fans will welcome this cd with arms wide open and others will banish it (too bad for them). I'm won't say that u have (or need) to buy it and run to the store to get it. Listen to it and enjoy it..then buy it but listen to the cd first because PR has proved to be a special band that doesn't fit in a box. So only u know if u like it or not. No comparaison of PR with another band can be done!

Free Music Review: "It's never too late to live your life..."
Hit: 5 Stars

"Getting Away with Murder" is Papa Roach's best effort to date as in this album you can sense their confidence and grasp with their musical talents more clearly than ever before. While the other two albums were without a doubt great, this one shows the band as more of a solid hard-rock band rather than your typical Nu-Metal performers. While the theme of heartbreak, tragedy and sadness has not changed, the way they approach their demons has changed into a much more solid and distinct sound.

They have completely dropped the rap-rock with this album (it was apparent that they would be doing so since it was hardly on "LoveHateTragedy), and I think they're better for it. While I liked their rap-rock, I think the lead singer has a great singing voice and he gets his point across more clearer in the songs this way. The album is heavy, but not extremely heavy. It's heavy when it needs to be. I really love the guitars and drumming on every single song. They're even more present than ever before. I also can't help but notice the strength of the lyrics in all of these songs, as well. There really are lines and sections of songs that will stay in your head. I'm sure some people will be upset with the sad tone of some of the songs, but if you can't deal with your demons through music, then what else is there left to do?

This is another one of those albums that you do not have to worry about skipping tracks. I loved every single song, but I do have my favorites. The best songs, in my opinion, are "blood (empty promises)," "not listening," "getting away with murder," "be free," "take me," "stop looking start seeing," and "do or die." It's really hard to list favorites, but those are the best tracks. It really is a great album in a whole.

I can't say enough good things about Papa Roach's "Getting Away with Murder." They haven't lost their touch, and they have also grown more as a band with this recent release. It's sad that it most likely won't get the attention it deserves, as is the case with most of the other great albums out there. If you miss the sound of "Infest," then you may not like this newer release. If you were digging the change in "LoveHateTragedy," then there's a really good chance you'll enjoy this album. I highly recommend this for any fans of hard rock. This CD will stay in my CD player for a long time. -Michael Crane

Free Music Review: Their new style has made a fan out of me
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD gets rid of the rap and the nu metal sound, and introduces more punk and rock and even some screamo (I guess). I always liked some Papa Roach songs but I never liked numetal or rap-rock. Then I saw the awesome video for the incredible title track (Getting Away With Murder) on TV, and I went out and got this CD and I am not the least bit dissapointed. I love the punk-rock influence, and the singer's vocals are sweet in everyway he sings (whispers, emotional, screaming). Also, the lyrics on this CD are incredible, some of the best I've read (ranging from all types of issues too, this is a great CD for anyone angry or depressed), they make every song even better.

1. Blood (5/5) - Great rock song, the lyrics and the chorus are top notch.

2. Not Listening (5/5) - Also one of the standouts, sounds a bit like "Blood Brothers." Basiclly its more typical Papa Roach, again great catchy chorus. Nice screaming too.

3. Stop Looking-Start Seeing (3/5) - This song is just ok, but enjoyable, the verse rocks but the chorus needs work.

4. Take Me (5/5) - Once again, an awesome catchy rock song with great lyrics. The chorus will stick in ur head for a while. Another standout (1/2 of the this CD are standouts).

5. Getting Away With Murder (5/5) - You've heard it and you know its awesome, its probably my favorite but all the others that are 5/5 are just as good.

6. Be Free (5/5) - Awesome driving rock song with some punk and pop-rock feeling, also a great catchy standout.

7. Done With You (2.5/5) - Enjoyable but just not that catchy so not much of a standout, but great lyrics still.

8. Scars (5/5) - Great rock ballad with emotional and relatable lyrics, itll be the 2nd single according to the sticker on the CD.

9. Sometimes (4/5) - Another slow rock ballad, has a cool acoustic part and emotional lyrics again. Its good but not a standout.

10. Blanket of Fear (3/5) - Once again a good rock song but not as great as most.

11. Tyranny of Normality (4/5) - Cool harder rock song. Also nice lyrcis that are critical of society and the media.

12. Do Or Die (5/5) - Awesome ending track, the chorus even sounds pop-punkish, but in a good way, its the poppiest song on the CD but one of the best!
