Free Music Review: Lovehatetragedy
Hit: 4 Stars

I purchased PaPa Roach's new CD inspired by their last debut. However, this CD is not like their last one in many ways. It's more creative in means of music. In "Infest", their last album, their music was all narrow minded. The lyrics, to me, don't really make sense unless i read them off the inside cover. This album lacks the aggression in the last one though. It's a really good listen. If you liked their last one my advice is to buy it. I'm glad that I did.

To me the S*** is perfect, but most Retarts out there don't even know about this album, cause the First single didn't sell so when that didn't sell, neither did the record. But this is a good record overall,it sucks the way there new style is,i guess that Era of Rap And Rock is played,BULL Music Review: good

Free Music Review: Not too special, still a great band
Hit: 3 Stars

While Getting Away With Murder is definitely one of--if not my favorite, albums, Love/Hate/Tragedy is really pretty average. There are a few standout tracks such as Time and Time Again, M80, and Black Clouds, and a few other decent ones, such as Born With Nothing, Die With Everything, and She Loves me Not, the rest are pretty average, and some, like Decompression Period, just plain suck. Their sophmore effort is not a great one, but I guess we can be happy that their next one will kick ass. Here is a rating of every song on a scale from 1-10.

M80--9/10 Great way to start the album, they DO tend to start of albums in a nice way. This one has a nice kick-ass feel to it.

Life is a Bullet--7/10 weird song, but not horrible. Too depressing, their cd is overall pretty depressing. Not too catchy, though.

Time and Time Again--9/10 One of their best songs. The best song, in my humble opinion. Very re-listenable, if that is a word. Good guitars, great song.

Walking Thru Barbed Wire--7/10 Another average song, very depressing, not too good.

Decompression Period--5/10 I can't stand this song, although there is a cool part where he changes pace, but it never goes anywhere, worst song on cd.

Born With Nothing, Die With Everything--7/10 Decent song, but the whole 'searching inside myself for the truth' thing is a little annoying. Decent guitars, and pretty listenable.

She Loves Me Not--8/10 Good song, catchy, but the only place in the cd where he raps, which is not a good thing, still decent song.

Singular Indestructable Droid--8/10 This song kind of makes sense, but there is some nice screaming and a hard-rock feel to it, nice song.

Black Clouds--9/10 Love this song, even if it is too depressing. Done well by Shaddix and the bass and guitars were great.

Code of Energy--8/10 Don't know what to think about this song. I love the hard rock feel, and the rapid pace. Good song by roach.

Love/Hate/Tragedy--8/10 I like this song for some reason. Not the best ending song, not that it is--there are 2 more bonus tracks, which are soso. Good tempo changes, and SOME catchy lyrics.

Gouge Away--8/10 I like this song, although roach didn't write it, some other dude did. it is alright.

Never Said It--7/10 nice drums in this, but not that great, like most songs on here, dont know why they put it in here.

Overall, this album gets a 7/10, because, although i hate the rappy feel to infest, they somehow managed to still make it catchy, and GAWM, which was phenominal, i LOVE that album, get GAWM instead of this one, unless, like me, you are a die hard PAPA ROACH fan. Bye

Free Music Review: I dont love it or hate it, but it's not a tragedy.

"Lovehatetragedy" is Papa Roach's sophomore album and it was released in 2002 on DreamWorks Records. "Infest" came out in 2000 and it was a ball of nu metal, complete with razor wire riffs, DJ scratching, and screamed misanthropic and angry lyrics. Papa Roach, this time around, decide to write a more serious and dark album with hardly any rapping or screams.

Does the transformation work?
Here's my take...

1. M-80 (Explosive Energy Movement) (2:27) 8/10
2. Life Is A Bullet (4:05) 8/10
3. Time And Time Again (2:59) 6.5/10
4. Walking Through Barbed Wire (3:05) 8/10
5. Decompression Period (3:59) 8/10
6. Born With Nothing, Die With Everything (3:50) 8/10
7. She Loves Me Not (3:30) 7/10
8. S.I.D. (Singular Indestructible Droid) (3:49) 8/10
9. Black Clouds (4:02) 8/10
10. Code Of Energy (4:04) 7/10
11. Lovehatetragedy (3:13) 7/10

Overall: 11 tracks, 38:56 7/10

This album doesn't have one bad track, the problem with it is that is doesn't have any stand out tracks. The songs lack strong chorues and are boring. Fans of "Infest" will love "She Loves Me Not." Papa Roach wrote a darker record with more personal lyrics but that doesn't automatically equal better quality. These songs just don't go anywhere and are rather boring.

If you absolutely love this bands other stuff I would still recommend this album, just don't expect an explosive CD like "Infest" was. What you do get is a more mature album that has good and bad moments. "S.I.D." is a metallic thrasher, "Decompression Period" is a depressing, moody song, and "She Loves Me Not" is nu metal all the way. "Time And Time Again" has a punk beat and is very annoying song overall.

If I had to make a list of favorite Papa Roach songs not one would come from this album but it is not terrible, it is just a mediocre album that I do give the boys props on. They could of wrote a copycat album of their debut but they didn't, instead they wanted to write dark, rock songs.

Bottom line for me is that it's just not that memorable or fun to listen to as an album. The choruses kill most songs and the riffs don't stand out song to song. If a song comes on random, I can dig it, but it is not an album that gets steady rotation.
