Free Music Notes for Part. II The Remix

Free Music Review: Remix is an up to date rendering for today's youth!
Hit: 5 Stars

At first I must say I was quite skeptical about a techno remix of Partridge family/David Cassidy hits since most remakes are horrible....I was still a bit put off after a first listen but after a few more listens, I was hooked! This CD brings the Partridges into a new generation, I love it! David still has a great voice and it is interesting to hear these fresh renderings that are different than the hundreds of complilations with the same old songs....they are the same old songs but with an updated "get up and dance" feel. This is a fresh approach that even today's cynics will find themselves tapping their feet along to. Don't dismiss this as techno garbage, give it a few good plays and you'll love it too....the remixes of the "C'mon Get Happy theme are worth the price! The best of Target's remix series, all the songs are slickly produced and fun! Do not pass this one up! Songs include:C'mon Get Happy, Craig J's C'mon Get Happy "gogo" remix (this one is fun!), I Think I Love You (of course), I'll Meet You Halfway, I Can Feel Your Heartbeat(great!), I Woke Up In Love This Morning, Point Me In The Direction Of Albuquerque (one of my personal faves!), Echo Valley 2-6809, Rock Me Baby (awesome!), Cherish (fresh and fun), Could It Be Forever, Ricky's Tune (beautiful) and C'mon Get Happy Reprise....this has not been widely well received by many Partridge purists, but Ii have an open mind and am happy for any attention that can be brought to the forefront for this totally underrated musical piece of pop history.....rock on, David!!!

Free Music Review: Loved the originals, these are great too!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD was playing before David's concert at the Hammersmith Apollo in London in April. The atmosphere was festive and the new upbeat songs put everyone in a good mood! David only performed a couple of them in concert and told us he was really nervous about performing the new arrangements but he did an awesome job. I came home desperate to get my hands on this CD! I will always love the original Partridge family songs, but fans who are being so negative about the new remix should try to see these as a wonderful addition, not a replacement. As for the songs, 'I'll Meet you Halfway' is my all time favorite ballad and the old version will always be my favorite. But 'Rock Me Baby' is awesome. I dare you to try to sit still through it! And the never to be left out 'I Think I Love You' is just as good as the old one. So buy it and dance til you drop!

Free Music Review: If you ever wondered what happened to David Cassidy
Hit: 5 Stars

Part II the Remix is a fun twist on David Cassidy's classic and most famous songs. You get all the hits that you remember from when he was a Partridge as well as some from his own career, but you have never heard them like this. Each one has a new beat with more of a today sound and David seems to have added a line or two on some of the songs to help them fit the new night club type beat, at least that's the way it sounds. Being a fan of both David Cassidy and the Partridge Family (Ah where did Laurie ever go?) I got a kick out of hearing this old classics in a new way. This is a must for every die hard or just casual David Cassidy fan.Just Like Dad: A Poetic Life

Free Music Review: David Cassidy is wonderful...this cd is NOT!
Hit: 2 Stars

I purchased this cd and listened to it twice. It was hard to hear the songs, I loved growing up, turned into techno trash. This is nothing new. If David wanted to try a new style of music, then he should have written something new. Seeing him perform this live was even more painful. David has always been a leader so why is he following a prerecorded beat. We all make mistakes David. We still love you and can't wait until you stop rehashing the past, with a twist and give us some new David Cassidy tunes. Would love to see him record "Hush" and "Common Theif". He does them in concert and they are wonderful!!
David Cassidy = sexy, soleful and intimate. This new cd is none of those!

Free Music Review: The worst album of David's whole career........
Hit: 1 Stars

As a long time David Cassidy fan I have almost lost all respect for him as an artist today. What on earth was he thinking releasing such a horrible CD. It's definitely the worst album of his entire career. How many times can he re-hash these songs and expect fans to buy it?? He has definitely taken his career backwards rather than moving forward with a brand new album with new songs. I would not have payed good money to buy this CD had it not been sent to me by a friend. I cringed in horror when I played afew minutes of each track. There are fans who obviously like this CD and there are many of us who absolutely hate it. I'd hate to even think that David would perform these tracks live in concert. Have also heard he could be doing another CD like this. Thanks David for all the great years but NO THANKS! The one thing that David should have given his now dwindling fan base is his back catalog. We all blame record companies for not giving us what we want but sorry to say that David is just as much to blame for not getting his older catalog released. He say's it's not about the money but we all know better than that. How long can fans wait?? We've hung on far too long on a thread and we are getting these cheaply made CD's that David thinks will make us happy. What we all want is "Bulletin Board" released......all the unreleased Partridge Family songs and the rest of his marvellous catalog including a re-issue of "Romance".......a stunning album from 1985. David deserves a huge box set released and one for the Partridge Family which is long overdue. Why should we put up with mediocre releases?? It's a travesty for an artist like David to not have his back catalog out including a Vintage concert from the 70's on DVD. If only David had good people working for him it could be a different story. As a long time fan I am bitterly disappointed. It's time that David gives fans what they really want. We've supported him over thirty years
