Free Music Review: The Partridges Fly Again
Hit: 4 Stars

Come On Get Happy! is yet another Partridge Family compilation, but unlike previous reissues, this set contains four unreleased songs. This disk was released to coincide with the DVD release of the show's first season and contains two songs heavily featured, "Let The Good Times In" & "Together (Havin' A Ball)" which make their record debuts. These songs were used in the debut episode of the show, but do not feature David Cassidy's vocals. The shows producers were unaware of Mr. Cassidy's singing ability, so backup singer Ron Micklin handled the duties. These two songs show the first rate pop production and songwriting that was given to the group. Although the group was a TV creation and are now thought of as 70's camp, the songs are excellent examples of early 70's pop. Songs like "I Woke In Love This Morning", "I Can Feel Your Heartbeat", "Together We're Better" & "Doesn't Somebody Want To Be Wanted" (written by Bruce Springsteen's first managers Mike Appel & Jim Crectos who used the royalties to start their management company) are slick and extremely catchy.

Free Music Review: Great CD for Partridge Family fans
Hit: 4 Stars

I grew up on the Partridge Family (way better than the Brady Bunch) and while I loved the show, it was the music that made the Partridge Family such a hit. Obviously, the Partridge Family is David Cassidy since none of the other case members (except for Shirley Jones on the show) actually sang. That's why I'm surprised to find "Let the Good Times in" and "Together (Havin' A Ball)" on this CD since David Cassidy doesn't sing on either of these 2 songs.

But nonetheless, this is a great collection for Partridge Family fans. With the possible exception of "Stephanie," all of the songs are great examples of sweet lyrics, great vocals (those amazing harmonies), and good time, finger-snapping, toe-tapping music. "Come on Get Happy" (the show's theme song) leads off the CD and the music just gets better after that.

This CD is well worth the money. Enjoy!

Free Music Review: Why did they include the non-Cassidy vocal tracks???
Hit: 4 Stars

I really like this collection. It bears mentioning that I secretly crushed on DC when I was 13, but thought it was uncool to do so. They should have included Bandelala and left out the two non-Cassidy vocal tracks. It's scary how nostalgia creeps up on you and grabs you by the throat. The vocals are fun and upbeat, and reading the liner notes and really listening to the instrumental part (besides be-bopping around), I have an additional respect for the professionalism of these recordings. I know, I know, pre-fab pop culture, but ya gotta admit, this is really fun stuff!

Free Music Review: Clean Clear Sound
Hit: 4 Stars

This is a disc that has some cuts from the show(previously unreleased) and if your a fan of The Patridge Family then this disc is for you. Not only is the sound clear and crisp, its chock full of memories too. If your use to these songs on your old vinyl as they were way back in the 70`s then these remasters will knock your socks off.

Free Music Review: Partridge Family fans collect missing tracks

Any Partridge Family or David Cassidy fans who want to fill in the missing songs from their collection must buy this as it has 4 previously unreleased songs on it. It also has 'Roller Coaster' from the hard to find 'Bulletin board' album and 'Come on get happy'.
