Free Music Notes for True Love

Free Music Review: nice sound
Hit: 4 Stars

pat benetar's voice lends itself quite well to the blues. tight band playing behind her. the only thing that kept it from being a 5 star is including "come home for christmas" on the cd. don't get me wrong, it is a great song, but cut a christmas cd and put it on there.

Free Music Review: Pat Benetar does the blues
Hit: 4 Stars

I loved this CD. Roomful of Blues does a fantastic job as usual, this time backing up Pat Benetar's earthy vocals. She takes some classics and makes them her own. Too bad she got such a bad rap for trying something new. I would like to hear more blues from Pat.

Free Music Review: Great Stuff
Hit: 4 Stars

Something totally different for Pat Benatar...but she is so versatile and has the most amazing voice any way she decides to sing. This collection of songs, the blues, the horns, the style, just love it!

Free Music Review: pat does it again!
Hit: 4 Stars

something different to listen to for sure.her voice really brings back this style of music .A good selection of all time classics. love it.

Free Music Review: Not great, not bad, it's... just OK
Hit: 3 Stars

The rock 'n' roll diva returns in the guise of a blues belter. She certainly has the pipes to shout the blues, but overall I found this to be a rather disappointing disc.

I'm not really sure what I was expecting. I like Benatar's hard rock vocal act of yesteryear, and I figured that between her band and Roomful of Blues, they could cook up a nice bluesful backing. But overall I just don't find these tracks particularly affecting. It all sounds okay, Benatar's voice is in good shape, and she's lost some of the coyness of her previous efforts. There's some nice guitar work from Mr. Benatar (Neil Giraldo), and the Roomful horns sound okay. Okay okay okay. That's the word that I keep hearing in my head.

It's not completely formulaic, it's not bad, it's just... okay.
