This is an interesting CD for Patti to put out at this point in her career. I am not fond of the first track "Did You Pray Today," but "Walk Around Heaven" & "I Love Him So" moreso seem like the type of gospel music that I expected from Patti. Her voice is great and it shows very well on songs like "I Love Him So" & the excellent "You Are My Friend." Although this is a gospel album, there is still a hint of the R&B/Soul flavor that embodies Patti Labelle, most notably in "Anything" with Kanye West. This cd may further blur the line between gospel and hip-hop, but I'm not sure that's not what Patti wanted. If she were to do another gospel album, I would like to see her assert herself and do gospel hymns and more traditional gospel. Otherwise, she should maintain with prodcing love songs that soothe the soul.Free Music Review: Maybe The Wait Was Too Long

It is amazing that The Legendary Patti Labelle waited so long to record a gospel album. I mean I have been to a dozen of her shows and when the gospel starts pouring out of Patti's voice she can't be stopped and the house is jammin. She is so spiritual and I remember she said on the Oprah show in 1997 that she was working on her gospel album as we speak but who knew it would take 9 years to finish. I love Patti but the production on this cd is weak. Her voice is not on the front lines as it should be. I wish her better producers becuase she still has it!!!Free Music Review: Patti gave it us something to listen too...

At first listen i thought it's just ok nothing really stood out in fact "did you pray today" the first song on the recording i knew i had heard before and i looked in my collection and found the lisa taylor version and when i played it I thought maybe patti should listen to how it should be done and it's rare that i think patti labelle needs to be compared to anyone but this time I am sorry to say patti you have done better and i look forward to your nex "great recording".Free Music Review: No Patti... I know for a fact the even at this age and stage in her life and her carreer, Patti LaBelle can do MUCH better!!!I don't know what to say about this project..... It's a..... Dry run. I really believe that Patti has a Grammy award wining album on the way VERY SOON!! This is just for fun. But one thing its does do, is show her vocals are still there, which if it does nothing else is a good thing. My favorite tracks are "You are my friend' and "the Lords prayer
