I have been an avid follower of Patty Griffin and her music since the first time I heard Living With Ghosts. While I enjoyed and appreciated her ability to front a more substantial backup band on Flaming Red, it is the intimacy of her voice and an acoustic guitar that is the most heartfelt and soulful. 1000 Kisses brought her back to her routes and influences with its wonderfully eclectic stylings. This outing confirms that Patty Griffin is one of those rare singer-songwriters who barely needs accompaniment. Sometimes it seems that more that one instrument is too many. Why Patti Griffin is not known to every adult in america is a mystery. Why I don't hear her on my radio is confounding. She is the Dylan of this age (her voice a delicate directed whisper one moment, and pealing the paint off the walls in another). Her devastating honesty and intensity confirm faith in the capacity for human expression to attain ethereal majesty. She exposes that inalienable connection we have to a universal truth in speaking directly to the soul. Her songs sear images into my being with a paintbrush of my own experience.
Buy this as an introduction to her other five cd's. You will very likely buy them all.

I've been a fan of patties for a couple years and have all her CD's. I looked at the song list on A Kiss in Time and since I allready had all the songs except 10 million miles I wasn't sure it offered anything new. I gave in and went ahead a bought it.This cd BLEW ME AWAY. It has instantly become my favorite. Patty live is otherworldly and this CD takes you to the front row. Christina, Peter Pan, and Mary are my favorites w/ all the others close behind. What an amazing talent is this woman. It has given new light to old songs and made me weep again. If you want the best that has been recorded then buy this CD.

I can't say enough about this singer. She's an old fashioned spirit for these times. She even looks at times like a womanfrom another era, but it lends her songs a grace of timelessness that just continues to grow on me. She is very
talented, shy on the stage at times but has got some great material, showcased on this new collection, of some of her
best moments brought to the stage. I look forward to her next
BIG project. She more than deserves a chance for a wider audience as "FLAMING RED" should have given her. Nice acoustic touches
to her originals and great guests to harmonize with her.

I love this cd!! I was anticpating this one for a good month or two and then they pushed the release date back, I was so upset. Patty's talent really shines through on this. It has all my favorites, namely 'Nobody's Cryin'', 'Peter Pan', 'Goodbye', and 'Rain'. I didn't know the story behind 'Christina' till I heard this cd..Patty explains it breifly before she sings it. Patty's passion really shines through and is the highlight of this cd. There is something about good live music that all the productions instruments in the world can not reproduce. A must have for Patty fans and a great introduction for new fans!!
