I have been a fan of Patty since the first time I heard Let Him Fly back in 1996. I have all of her albums and I was so excited to purchase this one. I have been listening to it for a few days now and I have to say it is absolutely amazing. Patty's voice and poetic lyrics are perfect. I have never had the opprotunity to see her live so this cd makes me feel like I was there. The live version of Let Him Fly is great, Nobody's crying is beautiful, and Rain is flawless. I would give this album a million stars, but I'll have to settle for 5. If you don't have this album, what are you waiting for?Free Music Review: Patty at Her Best

For those of you who love Patty, this cd is a must buy. The cd captures a simple, straight-forward performance that never seems contrived. Fans of Flaming Red will enjoy the toned-down versions of "Tony," "Christina," "Mary," and "Peter-Pan." Of course, Patty includes other favorites including "Rain," and my personal favorite, "Mad Mission." "Be Careful" features the beautiful harmonization of Patty and background vocalist Julie Miller (Julie's album Broken Things also excellent). BUY THIS CD. I've seen Patty at both ACL fest performances....she is incrediable! She's a great inspiration to young girls like me. (I've done a few covers) I love her intamacy live or recorded. Once again, Julie Miller and Emmylou Harris provide great backups. 10 Million Miles is an easy to play relaxing song. I always enjoy her fabulous songwriting. I love the emotion she always puts into her songs. I can't wait for hernew album to come out. I heard Icicles Falling and it sounds like the new album is gonna be great.....like always! I recently had the pleasure of seeing Patty in concert with Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin & Dar Williams. While all four women were excellent, Patty was nothing short of transcendent. It was clear that even her esteemed peers were in total awe of her deceptively simple, emotionally wrenching songwriting.
"A Kiss in Time" is an excellent collection that showcases Patty's range and extensive gifts. She is without question one of the great storytellers of our time.

This CD was recorded on the tour for the "1,000 Kisses" album. Songs from "Flaming Red" and "Living with Ghosts" are also included. I am a huge fan of her work and I am normally wary of "live" recordings. "A Kiss in Time" is solid, start to finish. If you are a fan of her work, I highly recommend this CD. If you are unfamiliar with her work, this would be an excellent place to start appreciating her amazing talent.
