Free Music Notes for Children Running ThroughFree Music Review: Patty Delivers Hit: 5 Stars
You will find no surprises here on Patty's new CD and by no surprises I mean its like that favorite meal from Mom that you always come home to get rather than the same dull burger from the drive-in just to stem your hunger.
Patty delivers the same beautiful poetry along with the haunting vocals we are used to hearing but with some beautiful new songs, styles and arrangements.
So if you're looking to go "home" again ..back to the security of Patty delivering every song like it was the last she will ever sing ,back to buying a CD where you know you will get your money's worth from ever single track then purchase this new collection by one of America's most under-appreciated female singers.
Free Music Review: Amazing- A Step Beyond in the Company of Giants Hit: 5 Stars
I came home tonight and found this cd left in my path by my wife and best friend, and sat down with it and listened straight through. Amazing. It is a step beyond what she's done before, and what she's done before is wonderful. And I heard her reference her earlier material, and echo Jimmy Cliff, Eva Cassidy, Paul Simon, Lucinda Williams, Bruce Springsteen and Jackson Browne. Almost perfect production, each instrument and orchestration comes in crisp and clear, beautifully balanced. As the first reveiwer said, it's impossible to imagine someone who likes Patty Griffin not loving this album. And yes, she is definitely one of the best walking this rock right now. Thank you, PG.
Free Music Review: Beautiful piece of work as ususual Hit: 5 Stars
I have been following Patty for years now and love her writing style and approach to delivering her message. She has a beautiful voice and unique style. I am sure a lot will not agree with me, but I would relate her writing style and delivery similar to Neil Young. It is different and similar. Much better looking though!
'Children Running Through' is another beautiful piece of work. It is a good balance between acoustic guitars (folk song writing style), faster strumming mixes to her a piano ballads. No overly produced - just Patty and her Taylor acoustic and Steinway grand. We can't wait to see her live in Tuscan.
Free Music Review: It's hard to imagine... Hit: 5 Stars
any fan of Patty Griffin NOT liking this album. It's all here, from her signature voice to her excellent songwriting skills. A couple of the songs might take a few go-arounds, but that isn't unusual with good music of substance. Patty is probably more eclectic on this album than her previous albums, successfully highlighting her tremendous range in mood and styles. "Children Running Through" may very well be the best album to date from one of today's best singer/songwriters. Patty Griffin has a maturity and sensitivity to her musical stories that few other artists can ever approach.
Free Music Review: What the World needs now.... Hit: 5 Stars
Patty Griffin has always had the abillity with her music to hit you emotionally, and boy her latest cd delivers a knockout blow. As soon as her voice enters the opening track you know it's going to be special. A voice so confident, full of honesty and pure emotion, that it's hard to listen to anything else for a while afterwards, so fulfilling is the 50 minute journey of "C.R.T". Like your oldest, dearest friend, Patty says all the right things to make the days that much sweeter, and you know she means it. In this world of ours, what more could you really want...
