Free Music Notes for Children Running ThroughFree Music Review: The world is missing out! Hit: 5 Stars
I have been a fan of Pattys since her first release Living with Ghosts and she keeps getting better. The new songs did not dissapoint me. Her voice is amazing and it shines here. She really grabs your attention with the first song You'll Remember. I have to admit Stay the the Ride is to me the only clunker on the cd. Trapeze is a beautiful song, and then the cd explodes with awesome guitar playing on Getting Ready. By far my favorite song is Heavenly Day. Its a surprise to me that Patty is not more popular, but I am happy as long as she keeps making music.
Free Music Review: Brilliant Hit: 5 Stars
this one is definitely a grower, give it a few spins and you wont regret it, no one writes and sings like patty griffin today, right up there with dylan and lucinda williams.....after a week, i have decided to add to this review and say that this could be the greatest record released in modern times, possibly surpassing blood on the tracks, and at least equal to blue and car wheels.....every track leaves me breathless when its over, in fact i find it hard to have this on shuffle on my ipod because anything else that comes after sounds lacking
Free Music Review: Unbelievable Hit: 5 Stars
I have a long playlist I like to come back to of Alt Country-or whatever you want to call it folks-artists I have accumulated over the years but no artist has me coming back to her music as often as Patty Griffin's.
The production quality is great and relatively unadorned which I love. I really feel the lyrics the way they are supposed to be felt. To bad mainstream radio won't likely play her music cuz it doesn't have the word margaritaville anywhere in the lyrics.
Patty, you just keep on keepin' on! :-)
Free Music Review: SIMPLY MAGNIFICENT Hit: 5 Stars
I have only recently discovered Patty Griffin but what a magnificent discovery it has been. I was fortunate enough to be at her concert in Melbourne last week and can only say that I was moved to tears. Many of the songs from this album featured in the concert. Now I have most of her albums and her DVD and have started to immerse myself. At this stage, I find I just love this album particularly - the diversity of song styles, the poetic and heartfelt lyrics and wonderful vocal delivery leave me breathless.
Free Music Review: Better and Better Hit: 5 Stars
Patty Griffin just keeps getting better and better. I have really enjoyed listening to the progression and growth from CD to CD, and Patty has really stepped up to the plate this time. She's brought in a bit more blues this time. A few of the songs run a bit long, but Heavenly Day and Up to the Mountain make up for any faults you may find. Wow. The depth and soul really come out in these two songs. Add to that Patty's hauntingly beautiful voice...I can't wait to hear what she comes out with next!
