Free Music Notes for Children Running ThroughFree Music Review: Great CD Hit: 5 Stars
This is a CD thats like fine wine. Some of the songs get better the more you hear them.
So much good music here. Hard for me to pick a favorite. Trapeze, Heavenly Days, I Don't Ever Give up come to mind.
Stay on the Ride is a unique song about an old man riding a bus to somewhere. Great background music and hard to not keep my foot still.
If you like this CD and whats not to like, give a listen to "Don't Come Easy". My favorite PG tune.
Free Music Review: these songs are incredible. Hit: 5 Stars
I am not a musician and cannot speak in witty musical terms like a lot of other reviewers here, but I can say that Patty's music touches me in a way that few other artists do, and this cd is already at the top of my list. I think Railroad Wings is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and performed. She is so dimunitive and yet so powerful. Her guitar and voice are perfect. She's my hero. And I get to see her live in Tucson in a few weeks. Lucky me.
Free Music Review: Oh wow! Hit: 5 Stars
This is one of those remarkable albums that can appeal across multiple tastes, a music lovers album. Really. I think there's such quality here, such a density of time, rhythm and feeling that irrespective of the artist you've just switched over from this album will catch you. Maybe you wouldn't pursue the genre (if any really fit) but you will move on knowing you've caught an artist at their best, and you've been moved in some way. Truly beautiful.
Free Music Review: Today was a heavenly day Hit: 5 Stars
My disc arrived. I played it. I played it again. And again. Honestly, I took the disc in as a whole so I wasn't paying attention to particular song titles, though I recall my ears perking up on Trapeze and Burgundy Shoes. And I do know that if hearing Heavenly Day followed by No Bad News doesn't make you feel better about getting out of bed in the morning, you need more help than good music can provide.
Love this disc. Thank you Patty.
Free Music Review: This is awesome... Hit: 5 Stars
....what an incredible CD!!!
You just can't go wrong with Patty Griffin folks....and I especially loved her duet with Emmylou Harris in 'Trapeze' which really had me on overload listening to it.
I can't say how much I've grown to idolize Emmylou over the years, but hearing Patty Griffin - I have another voice to idolize over. I haven't regretted buying a single CD of Patty Griffin - you won't either!
