Free Music Notes for Living With GhostsFree Music Review: A testament to the raw power of the human voice Hit: 5 Stars
This album explodes with the passion and fury of Patty Griffin's raw yet gorgeous voice. She's also an incredible songwriter. I am actually so stunned by this album that right now I can't find the words to describe it. I just hope that another 5-star review might push someone considering buying this into action! I'm just so glad that I finally got it; better late than never! If this album does not move you, then you are immovable. -A new fan for life
Free Music Review: chew like a cannibal Hit: 5 Stars
i have to admit i am a sucker for a girl with a guitar, but patty griffin steps so far beyond the average, i cant imagine her not melting anyone who actually took a minute and sat down to listen. her lyrics are smart and powerful, her voice is enchanting and unique - she's even a little bit country (which i normally cannot abide by) - i can listen to this album over and over and it just ignites me. this album comes highly recommended by me and mine.....
Free Music Review: a return to roots Hit: 5 Stars
I started looking for different folk music when the Indigo Girls' incredible lyrics and rootsy songs (Strange Fire, Nomads) were replaced with increased production value and overly-orchestrated, second-rate songs. Patty Griffin hit me hard with her gutsy approach. I've been mesmerized by the raw-ness of the emotion conveyed in this music. I haven't checked out any of her subsequent projects. But then again, this album has never left me wanting for more.
Free Music Review: Patty Griffin is THE ARTIST Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this album based off the fact I love The Dixie Chick's versions of "Let Him Fly" and "Top of the World." And I was already in love with Patty's voice, words and soul from "1,000 Kisses". This is quite the beautiful album. It's not quite as polished as "1,000 Kisses" but that's what makes it great. What you get is raw vocals and guitar, and absolute beauty. If I could give it 5 1/2 stars I would.
Free Music Review: You Must Buy This CD Hit: 5 Stars
"Every Little Bit" hooked me first, and a year after being introduced to this cd I still listen to it constantly. She is a powerful musician. She digs right into the soul with her lyrics and just carries them with her incredible voice. "Sweet Lorraine" is is phenomenal. "Poor Man's House" is heartbreaking...."Forgiveness" is breathtaking....Everyone I've introduced this CD to is a fan.
