This record is six years old and it's still as refreshing as the day I popped it into my cd player. If you're a songwriter and you're getting depressed by the horrendous state of the music business, put this record on. This is how it's done. After first hearing patty its become a quest to get as much of her music as I can find. Living with ghost is the purist CD she has put out, very intimate and coffee house-ish. I have had 3 of her CDS in my player on rotation for a month and have not tired of any. She is the most talented artist both her writing and voice that I know of. I originally reviewed this album in 1999, and four years later, I still love it. And her newest, 1000 Kisses, is just as amazing. I hope she continues to write and put out albums because I look forward to whatever she has up her sleeve next. In my opinion, no one is writing songs like her, as good as these. I saw Patty at a Strawberries (Remember Strawberries?) company conference in Providence Rhode Island supporting the release of this album. I was blown away. Her live performance is raw and refined at the same time. She has a gift for lyric. I think her best work is when she is alone with her guitar, therefore, my love for this album and her latest live release.Free Music Review: bare bones magic

Patty Griffin's "Living With Ghosts", a collection of guitar/vocal demos, will blow you away. For sheer talent and emotion this stripped down bare bones record is the best thing that I've heard all year. Her vocal ability is amazing and the songwriting is top drawer. If you love great singers and great songs, do yourself a favor, get this disc!
