This album uses less of the shred and more of the melodic. Paul even sings on all of the songs with the exception of the classical instrumental "Gilberto Concerto".

Without a doubt, this is a happy album. If Paul Gilbert was a more recognized name outside of the guitar world, there are even a few songs on here that would get radio play. This is the album you pop in at a party, or when friends are over, and by the second play they are singing along. And unlike most of his solo work, or his Racer X stuff, your girlfriend won't make you change the disc.
