Free Music Notes for Get Out of My YardFree Music Review: One of the Very Best Hit: 5 Stars
People ask me "who is the best guitarist, who is your favorite???" I have always had a hard time there. I enjoy so many different styles. I have some favorites, sure, but there are players I see in local clubs that are amazing as well..... The other day I grabbed this CD off the shelf, took it into the car and was absolutley blown away. Simply put, Paul Gilbert is one of my favorites and one of the very "best" guitar players that ever walked this planet. Buy this CD, sit back and enjoy. It is really exceptionally versatile and awesome!!!!! It's so much more than simply another METAL instrumental [shredder - I hate that label....], it spans styles and is totally unique.....GET IT!!!!!!!!!
Free Music Review: Great Instrumental Rock CD Hit: 5 Stars
I really like this CD and listen to it often. I'm a huge instrumental rock guitar fan and have been playing guitar for 17 years. If you like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, I definetely recommend this CD because it is up there with the best. Paul Gilbert is an incredible guitar player and has been releasing music since 1986 (Racer X, Mr. Big, solo albums). I plan on buying some Racer X and Paul Gilbert solo CD's because I've liked all the songs I've heard over the years. Paul does a song for Eddie Van Halen (his guitar hero and mine) on this CD and I thought that it was a really cool thing to do. Maybe we could see them play on an album together someday! Rock on...
Free Music Review: 12 stars! Hit: 5 Stars
The "Guitar Gods" incredibly talented "court jester" turns in his very first instrumental album and knocks the compettion to it's knees. How did he do it? According to him, he actually practiced. He figured if he was going to make an album worthy of one of his own heroes, Eddie Van Halen, he ought to give it all he had. Paul, I can't imagine that Eddie isn't proud of you. He may actually be a little bit green with envy. Gilbert, who's played with Racer X and Mr. Big, has always turned out rewarding power pop solo albums and has considerable vocal skills. I can't wait to see what he'll do next now that he's raised the bar so high. One of my favorites of the year.
Free Music Review: G3 Fan Hit: 5 Stars
I'll admit, I went to the G3 sho to hear John Petrucci and Joe Satriani. I haven't heard Paul since his Mr. Big Days, I didn't know what to expect, I just didn't want to be disapointed. Well, he didn't disapoint! He was great and his music is well structured. I liked it so much I purchased his latest CD "Get out of my Yard". This by far is one of the best CDs I've purchased to date. And I've purchased hundreds if them.
If you want to hear some great guitar playing and some great music buy this CD. This is one muscian that shouldn't be over looked, He has great chops, and a great sense of humor. You'll enjoy it.
Free Music Review: Amazing Hit: 5 Stars
Simply put, Paul Gilbert is nothing short of the man. All of his songs are inspired by something and reflect his amazing creativity. For every song he writes, he draws a cartoon and writes a poem about what he wrote. His music is not only impressive (he's an awesome shredder), but very musical and very inspiring to listen to. As a guitarist, this CD has added greatly to my motivation to play, to better myself as a musician and to expand my musical knowledge. He doesn't even need lyrics to tell his stories - the music says it all. Paul has given new depth to my respect for the guitar as an instrument of music.
