Free Music Review: What can i say?
Hit: 5 Stars

OK, i will try to be quick, if you look at the tracklist you will find the biggest and the best selection of Macca's tunes, from the Beatles' Era (like Yesterday, Let it be, and others), Wings' (Jet, Band on the Run, and more), Macca's Tunes (Maybe I'm amazed, Lonely Road, Driving Rain, and a lot more!), so if you can't be with Macca in the tour, or if you love great music, or of you're a Beatles' and Macca fan, you can't miss this album that reflects the highlights of maybe the best tour of Paul McCartney. His band is powerful, the songs are played with all accuracy and they're all clean. The Power of Macca at the instruments are great, he play Piano, Guitar, Bass and ukulele remembering George Harrison, and plays in the same mood a song for "his old friend" John... Imagine the crowds, sing the best songs and feel the wind of Macca's voice in the air. Nice album.

Free Music Review: Many Different Perspectives from Paul McCartney
Hit: 5 Stars

The sampling of the Beatles catalog from beginning (I Saw Her Standing There, All My Loving) to end (Let It Be, The Long and Winding Road, The End) and lots in between (Here There and Everywhere, Eleanor Rigby, The Fool on the Hill, Lady Madonna, Yesterday, Sgt. Pepper, Hey Jude) is enough to give this live version CD a full 5 stars.

In addition there are some great versions of Paul's music while solo (Maybe I'm Amazed) and with Wings (Band on the Run, Jet).

The fact that the songs span a time period of 40 years (1962-2002) and they are live rather than studio versions gives the listener a different perspective on this music from Paul McCartney, the Beatle who just can't stop performing. The only thing that would have been better is if Ringo had joined the tour and some of his work (It Don't Come Easy, Photograph) had been included. Maybe next time....

Free Music Review: Simply Amazing
Hit: 5 Stars

First off, I am a Beatles fan and have (to some extent) followed Paul McCartney's solo and "Wings" careers. However, this has NOT affected my review.

With that said, this is one of the best albums I have ever heard. Please note that my definition of "best" is an album that I can listen to straight through without having to skip over a song because I hate it. Paul has had an amazing career on and off the Beatles scene, and (at least to me) brings it all together in this one astonishing tour.

Some of the highlights of the album are "Mabye I'm Amazed" (solo career), "Band On The Run" (Wings career), and "Hello, Goodbye" and "Blackbird" (Beatles career). That is just a taste of the many songs on this 2-disc set.

In short, whether your a Beatles fan, a Wings fan, a McCartney fan, or if you've never heard of him, this album is well worth checking out.

Free Music Review: A Night With the Knight
Hit: 5 Stars

I spent the night with Sir Paul in Portland. It was a night that I will remember always. This DVD and CD are early in the tour and don't match the magic, charisma, and power achieved with time by an inspired band at the end of an epic tour- yet it is enough of that magic to watch again and again. I am disappointed that this doesn't capture the essence, stories, and humor that Paul shared with us live. We don't see his face and hear his voice when he speaks of Linda, John, and George. It doesn't catch the moments when we were suddenly transported back to our Camelot of the 60s with the Fool on the Hill. It doesn't include the haunting and best ever version of She's Leaving Home. Even so... it is incredible. For those that haven't seen him live....this is only a shadow of the magic of this tour. However, it is enough to watch and listen to again and again.

Free Music Review: Best Live Rock CD Of The Year!
Hit: 5 Stars

Paul McCartney's "Back In The U.S. 2002", shows that the 60 year old ex-Beatle is still enthusiastic about his music and delivers big time with this 35 song two hour live concert recently recorded during his critically acclaimed 2002 world tour. His band is absolutely marvelous and drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. is quite a musician as seen on the Dvd edition. Paul is fine form and his voice hasn't been this strong since the seventies. He blends a nice mix of Beatle and solo material and it gets a bit emotional when Paul sings "Something" in honor of George Harrison, while playing a ukulele that George gave to him as a gift prior to passing away. Not all of us were lucky enough to see him on this recent tour, but owning this cd or the companion Dvd is the next best thing to being there. This is truly a solid effort not to be missed.
