Free Music Review: Now For the Next Tour!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Well, 5 stars is not telling of how great Macca's tour and cd of the tour are. All agree highlights if this and previous tours were introductions of never before performed Beatles songs. This CD's examples are "Getting Better" and "Hello Good-bye."Not only are these concert thunders, but also mark ever-lasting impressions on the tour CD's. With this in mind......Macca can now tour again and introduce 24 more Beatle songs, that he was the primary writer on, previously not performed! Sprinkled in with about a dozen Beatle/Wings/McCartney concert classic mainstays you have the next great tour. Even better, he can perform and highlight some of the great cuts from Band oon the Run, Flaming Pie and Driving Rain that haven't yet been performed live! Listen:Amongst the start of the concert are these songs: "Good Day Sunshine," "Obladi Obla Da," "Helter Skelter," "Why Don't We Do It in the Road," "Love Me Do," "She's Leaving Home," (it's not on a cd). Acoustic? Strum on these."I Will," "For No One," "P.S. I Love You," "I'll follow the Sun," "Every little thing," "What your doing?," "When I'm 64," "Two of us."Back comes out the crack band to play; "The Night Before," "Another Girl," "I,m looking Through You," "Hold Me Tight,""I Wanna Be Your Man." Amongst the finale' selections, Macca showers and stuns the crowd with powerful, soulful versions of; "Fixing A Hole,""Lovely Rita," "I'm Down," "She's A Woman," and "Oh Darling!"Can't wait for the next tour and CD!Come on , Paul, do it!

Free Music Review: I Say YES !...
Hit: 5 Stars

This is without a doubt the best live album that McCartney has produced and contains a generous quantity of absolutely top quality songs performed live. The CD reverberates with energy beginning with the opening song..."It's Getting Better." Paul punches out song after song without a break during the concert and a particularly beautiful and touching highlight of this CD is when Paul is alone on stage singing "Blackbird, Mother Nature's Son, We Can Work It Out, Something, etc." His voice is better than ever and he adds a contemporary twist to these songs performed with classical guitar and ukelele. His tributes to his "mates" are beautiful and quite touching and the deep fondness for his deceased friends comes across without inhibition. The songs performed from the Driving Rain CD are exquisitely done and of course, the classic Beatle tunes sound fabulous! Ending with the Sgt. Pepper's reprise and The End wrapped up an absolutely fantastic exhibition of McCartney's unending talent. The only thing that I missed were his usual references to the cities that the tracks were being taped in and for me this detracted slightly from an otherwise fantastic live CD. I find there is so much more energy when there are personal references to the places where the songs are being recorded...however, I still say YES in a big way!... This is truly a great !...

Free Music Review: Back with a Vengence
Hit: 5 Stars

There are only three things you can know for sure when you go to bed at the end of each day: 1.) You'll pay taxes 2.) You'll die one day 3.) Paul's tours will always result in live albums. And so here we are with "Back In The US" which was culled from a few of his North American shows in the spring. We've all heard the previous live releases (Wings Over America, Tripping the Live Fantastic and Paul Is Live) so what can be gained from buying "Back In the US"? For the first time, Paul plays such gems as "Getting Better", "Mother Nature's Son", "Blackbird", "You Never Give Me Your Money" and the touching John Lennon tribute, "Here Today". The solo acoustic pieces are a tribute to Paul's still strong vocals, even at age 60. The rest of the album is what you'd expect; listeners are treated to what feels like the 100th versions of 'Let It Be', 'Hey Jude' and 'Back In the USSR'. However, one feature that separates this live album from the others is that the songs are presented in the same running order that they were at the concerts, giving listeners are true grasp of the concert experience. The band is tight and explosive, and there is a life to these songs that has been missing from Paul's previous live releases. After the somewhat debacle that was Driving Rain, it's refreshing to hear Paul rock on "Back In The US". Go ahead, buy it. It's Paul. You were going to anyway.

Free Music Review: Wow!
Hit: 5 Stars

I am quite thrilled with this release. I saw this show 4 times in 2002, the first leg 2x (which this is the recording of) and the second leg also 2x. The disc really captures the mood of the show, which was the highest grossing tour of 2002 for good reason. Paul is in splendid voice and his band rocks. The Beatles numbers are just wonderful, and many had not been done live before this tour because they were recorded after the Beatles stopped touring.

But, it is not just the Beatles music that makes this disc, and in fact the tour, so remarkable. Say what you like about him, but Sir Paul is easily our most prolific song writer. Beautiful ballads like Maybe I'm Amazed, rockers like Coming Up, both from his solo career, shows his incredible songwriting ability even without his famous former partner.

The disc also shows Sir Paul's incredible showmanship. The show is a croud pleaser and he knows it. You do get a better feel for his showmanship from the DVD (also recommended), but I am just impressed with a 60 year old who can belt out the same songs he did in his 20's.

My one critizism of the disc and the show is that I would have liked more live versions of songs from Driving Rain, there are 3, but...there's always the "When I'm 64" Tour!

Free Music Review: A Truly Special Live Set
Hit: 5 Stars

I was very blessed to see Paul McCartney on his most recent tour, and it was without question one of the greatest concerts that I have ever attended. Paul & his band were simply outstanding, and you couldn't have asked for a better setlist from the man---all those Beatles classics, plus Wings stuff, and a pair of tunes from Paul's wonderful "Driving Rain" disc, all rendered with a lot of love & musical magic. And Paul's loving tributes to John Lennon & George Harrison, "Here Today," & "Something" played on the ukelele, had me in tears. An absolutely FAB night. "Back In The U.S. Live 2002" brings you Paul's amazing concert in it's entirety, albeit without Paul's inbetween song introductions (presumably to make this 2CD live set a little tighter, which is understandable). If you attended any of the shows, then "Back In The U.S." is a priceless souvenir. If you weren't able to get a ticket, then get this album and find out for yourself what made this particular McCartney tour so special. Either way, "Back In The U.S." is a marvelous live document of a re-energised Paul McCartney at the peak of his live powers. Rock on, Sir Paul! :-)
