Free Music Review: "Stunning, simply Stunning !!!"
Hit: 5 Stars

As a musician who writes his own songs, plays all of the instruments, sings all of the vocals, and has had a number of songs "on-the-air", I have such a deep appreciation for Paul and his incredible musical abilities, including his playing of all or most of the instruments on some of his albums. This amazing new CD finds Paul moving into heretofore untraveled territory, for him, with some of the most atypical and creatively fresh songs of his career since The Beatles. Yes, "Dance Tonight" is simple and bouncy, but it's a delightful way to jump-start the CD. From that point on, most, if not all, of the songs are reflective of his life to this point. And just imagine, Paul McCartney referring to his own eventual DEATH, something I would never have expected from the most optimistic man I've ever seen. Well, that's just what he does in "The End of the End", but in a fashion that lays the celebratory framework within which he wants his friends, family, and fans to react to such an event. I won't waste time by providing a "song-by-song" description of the material on the CD. Suffice it to say that it is an incredible accomplishment by a man, one of four, who changed the world of music forever. By the way, the Deluxe Edition is a worthwhile package, with three bonus tracks of merit, and Paul discussing the songs from the CD. Whether you purchase that one, as I did, or the regular edition, open your minds and just enjoy the wonderful songs offered to us all by an astoundingly gifted artist.

Free Music Review: Hey Mr Bellamy
Hit: 5 Stars

I wonder whether people expect Paul to write "Yesterday"s and "Eleanor Rigby"s for the rest of his life. People go through different phases both in their lives and in their art. Yes, for a while Paul had a nostalgia for the Beatles' era, producing such academic efforts as "Flaming Pie" and "Chaos and Creation". Actually all this started with the "Tug of War". In this album I see a departure from such a desire. With George gone and then the divorce the man wants to have some space and time for himself. "Mr Bellamy", if you listen to it carefully, is the manifesto of this album. Careless, mindless, childish, uniqe, boysterous, stubborn, and independent, that's what he wants. He doesn't want to end up an icon or a marble statue on your shelf. Chairman Mao he is not. Listen to his version of the "End". He wants the people to laugh and trample over and not mourn his departure. He wants to make it easy for us. Sooner or later he will go. And yet he creates an impression that he is still young and can experiment with his music. And his music is still young. In some parts one feels as if a new rising teenage star and not an old man wrote this. He wants you to have another look at him. Do not try to find clishes in the tracks of this album. They are anything but normal. And the man is not afraid anymore to talk to you about his very private. "You tell me" what you want, another "Abbey Road"? Well, may be only at the end of the end.

Free Music Review: Pure McCarteny...and WHAT could be better?
Hit: 5 Stars

This ranks amongst his best...not in the Beatle era or even wings era...It just rings true of McCartney. Pure love songs and songs you will think a long time about. A Lot of people think his lyrics don't make much sense but he is a master of melody and no one has that voice. But I've never heard a lyric from him that doesn't make you sit down and think. Even since the Beatles.

Forgive me John Lennon for you and him created modern music as we ALL know it today. But Paul fortunately continues your legend as well as continually paving a path of direction. This album is pure McCartney as any. It makes you happy it makes you cry. I hope the End of The End has no meaning beyond it's lyrics. Really can't compare this to any solo McCartney album, except to say it is exceptional. You can never walk away from any work of his from his teens till he's 64 without hearing at least one song if not many that just rips though you (and your heart) and you feel EXACTLY what he is singing.

This album is NO exception. Don't miss a chance to own it. It will hit you as only McCartney can. Silly love songs, Rock and Roll, and of course the songs that will always make you wonder. As far as music which is just pure fun to sit down and listen to, this is and will be a classic.

Like I said...McCartney through and through...true and true.

Thanks Paul!

Free Music Review: OMG...there are idiots in Evansville
Hit: 5 Stars

Okay...I'll try to keep this about the music and artist and not some poor misgiven fool who thinks they know anything at all about Paul or his music. All I can say is if you dislike the CD so much, sell it on EBay. You should recoup some of your money. As far as your hearing problem, consult a professional.
Now to the album. It's not the best Macca's ever done, but for where he is in his life, it's damn near perfect. I have to agree Gratitude left a lot to be desired. I still can't figure out if he's happy she's gone or pissed. Having just gone through a divorce myself, I can relate to all of the songs, but Mr. Bellamy has to be one of my favorites. And if you stop and think about it, one of the tracks is vaguely reminescent of George's Crackerbox Palace. There are a lot of influences in the songs, but only Macca can make them his own, and so brilliantly. I also have to agree the packaging sucks. Love the pictures but they'd have done better to have done postcards and just a double holder. I've already moved mine into a much easier jewel case to work so I don't have to worry about damaging them.
Should you buy this CD? If you own any Beatles, Wings or Macca vinyl, 8-track, cassette or cd's then the answer is obvious...YES. Of course, you could buy it even if you've never listened to any of his music before. Doesn't everyone love a mystery?

Free Music Review: Thank God for Paul Mac!
Hit: 5 Stars

I can't imagine the world without the great music of Sir Paul. He is a living legend that commands respect from all his peers, music lovers or plain folks. The guy is awesome. I cant imagine how he wrote all the songs from I Saw Her Standing There , Yesterday , Get back , Band on the Run, Silly Love Songs, My Brave Face, Fine Line and now to Ever Present Past. From the Albums Please Please Me (Beatles) to Band On the Run (Wings) to McCartney II to his latest MAF, sir paul has made my day with his beautiful songs with fantastic melody to booth. Im a fan of sir paul since 1973 when I was just 6 years old. The first song I learned to love was Band on the Run and Live & Let Die. I was a Paul fan before I heard of The Beatles!

My favorite songs from MAF are Ever Present Past, Mr. Bellamy, Only Mama Knows, See Your Sunshine and Vintage Clothes. No one can replace Paul. he is the greatest pop composer of all time. I hope that he won't retire from making and composing new music. Hope he makes new albums yearly or every other year. So fans, music lovers, what are you waiting for? Get this great album of Paul now! Readers all over the world with taste would agree with me. Maybe Paul himself is reading all the MAF reviews from amazon.com, all I can say to you sir is Thank You! Please DONT EVER RETIRE! CONTINUE MAKING GREAT MUSIC!
