Free Music Notes for Memory Almost FullFree Music Review: In my memory for a while, full or not !!! Hit: 5 Stars
Let's start with the deluxe package. I took it because it was only 3$ more. I think it is worth it if you don't have to pay much more, except if you're a real fan. It is a "DVD-style" packaging with nice pictures and a short extra CD with an interview and 3 extra tracks.
This album is very different from "Chaos and Creation in the backyard". I would say it is more joyful, entertaining and accessible. I had to listen to "Chaos" and "Driving Rain" a couple of times to appreciate the material. I enjoyed "Memory Almost Full" on the first listen, it is innovative and it sounds fresh in McCartney's style.
Again, Paul plays a various set of instruments and his vocal performance is awesome (including back vocals and incredible whistling !). From the very simple "Dance Tonight" to the rocky "Only Mama Knows" and the touching "Ever Present Past" or the melancholic "You Tell Me", I was once more surprised by McCartney's talentful songwriting. "House Of Wax" is an incredible piano song with intense vocal.
This album sounds great and keeps McCartney within my favorites. The songs are very-well mixed and varied. Hope to see him again on tour !
Free Music Review: Excellent Piece Hit: 5 Stars
As it seems to be the usual case with any new McCartney album, there are those awaiting to claw at him , rip him up with the most harshest reviews, and then there are those ready to give praise to the Beatles Legend no matter what he does... But overall, it seems that Paul McCartney is an artist underappreciated by most mainly because he is quite prolific, passionate, and doesn't mind taking chances and putting out all sorts of music. Maybe when he's long gone rockin' in heaven with John and George then people will start listening closely to the massive and impressive body of work that he's done (not just the greatest hits!) I love John Lennon just as much as you probably do, but must people strangely keep putting Paul down as less a talent? Hardly the case. McCartney's music is what made The Beatles The Beatles. And can anyone name another artist who can constantly explore new areas as diverse and as interesting as McCartney has? Listen to his body of work, it is amazingly rich. (Check out Liverpool Sound Collage, or The Fireman, or McCartney II, or Driving Rain, or this album!!) McCartney is a true artist who puts proper attention and care into each album he makes. Thank you Paul.
Free Music Review: THIS IS 5 Stars
WELL YOU TELL ME?????? THIS CD IS ONE OF THE BEST PAUL HAS PUT OUT. IT'S SOUND HAS A LOT OF WINGS IN IT, FRESH, CLEAN, CLEAR. THE BACK UP SINGING HAS THE DENNY AND LINDA SOUND TO IT. I DONT WANT TO COMPARE IT TO OTHER LPS/CDS OF THE PAST BECAUSE THEY ALL STAND ON THERE OWN. BUT I DO THINK PAUL SHORT CHANGED HIM SELF ON HIS FIRST SINGLE DANCE TONIGHT, IS GREAT BUT WEAK AS A SINGLE, HOUSE OF WAX OR ONLY MAMA KNOWS WOULD GET THE AIR PLAY, THEN DANCE TONIGHT OR EVER PRESENT PAST. THE FIRST PUNCH IS WHAT COUNTS IF IT FALLS FLAT THE OTHERS WON'T GET A EAR, THAT'S
A SHAME THIS CD HAS ENOUGH PLAYING POWER TO IT. IT SHOUD HAVE CHARTED FOR WEEKS. IF IT WAS A EARLY WINGS CD IT WOULD BE THE TALK TO THIS DAY LIKE BAND ON THE RUN. PAUL IS AT HIS BEST AT BASS BOY CAN HE ROCK, HE A JACK OF ALL, THAT GUITAR JUST TAKES OFF. YOU NEED TO NOD YOUR HEAD CLOSE YOUR EYES AND GO BACK TO A BETTER TIME WHEN SONG WERE PURE AND CLEAN THANKS PAUL FOR GIVING US A NOTHER CHANCE TO ENJOY YOUR CRAFTMANSHIP. YOU DON,T HAVE ONE SORRY LP/CD OUT THERE JUST STAGES OF YOUR SONG WRITING, NOT ALL ART CAN BE #1 ALL HAVE THERE OWN TASTE OF WHAT IS ART. KEEP Music Review: Total Satisfaction, a really strong album for Mac Hit: 5 Stars
McCartney always gets his share of tough reviews. For Some people he is just not their cup of tea? For most of the rest of the world he is the most prolific artist solo and combined with his Beatles work on the planet. By almost any measure thats just a fact. Now to Memory. Totally satisfied i put in the title. As a 40 year plus fan I am. The last 10 years Mac has blown off most of his "Silly" critics and showed what he does best. Memory is like a slice of all the best of McCartney, fun, thought provoking, Solidly ROCKS OUT, creative, different and his vocals and lyrics I believe are some of his best ever. Not to mention some real kickass Bass. I keep expecting him to sound like some old guy who I say I remember when to.....etc, but he keeps coming back and blowing me away. I love this guy, but mostly I respect and appreciate what he has done with music for over 40 years. Memory is another example of why the word Great is attached to some artist. As you listen through this one you keep coming back to hear it again and again. A classic for sure ignor the usual Mac haters they will never get it!
Free Music Review: Mccartney back in form Hit: 5 Stars
For a start, I only heard 1 new song, "ever present past." It's a very catchy uptempo song. Probably the single and his best since "my brave face!"
Thumbing bass and as always a great melody and nice hooks. Modern in a way and some reminiscenses from his wings period.
The other songs are likely the following:
Memory Almost Full
Total Running Time: 42:29
1. Dance Tonight 2:56
2. Ever Present Past 2:59
3. See Your Sunshine 3:22
4. Only Mama Knows 4:19
5. You Tell Me 3:17
6. Mr. Bellamy 3:41
7. Gratitude 3:21
8. Vintage Clothes 2:24
9. That Was Me 2:16
10. Feet In The Clouds 3:26
11. House Of Wax 5:01
12. End Of The End 2:59
13. Nod Your Head 1:58
The last songs are supposed to be a "suite" perhaps like the b-side of abbey road. Expectations are very high!
I'v read some lyrics already and they are pretty heavy and deeper you expect from Paul.
