Free Music Notes for Memory Almost Full

Free Music Review: Old School McCartney
Hit: 5 Stars

Over the last 10 years McCartney has been going through a renaissance of sorts. I'm not sure if this culminates it or not, but this effort certainly does keep the momentum going. Excellent, excellent album from start to finish.

Highlights? There are many. The opener "Dance Tonight" is fun, especially with the mandolin rhythm. Or there's "Only Mama Knows" a clear ode to his first wife Linda. And then of course, there is the suite of songs that finish the album. However, I think my favorite is "Gratitude". Here McCartney pulls out his rocker voice (ala Sgt. Pepper, Oh Darling, Back in the U.S.S.R.) and delivers one of his best vocals in the last 20 years.

Absolutely worth purchasing (especially if it's on sale.) McCartney's "memory almost full" is a tour de force that will rank as one of his best solo albums ever. (And that's saying a lot considering what he's accomplished in his brilliant career.)

Free Music Review: Sir Paul's Enchanted Album
Hit: 5 Stars

I cannot stop listening to this CD. I've been a LOYAL fan of Paul for a long time and I will listen to anything he makes. His last album, "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard", was such a masterpiece that I wondered if he could repeat its success. At first I was not so sure about this album, but the more I listened to it, REALLY listened to it, the more I loved it. "Dance Tonight" the first single, might have been a little misleading. These are not simple songs on this album. Paul's imagination has spun some clever and truly captivating lyrics. His vocals show absolutely no age and the instrumentals are original and enchanting. My favorite tracks are "House of Wax", "Only Mama Knows", and "Nod Your Head", but the others are also great. Paul has experienced a sort of musical renaissance these past few years and I only hope that he continues to deliver us more beautiful music.

Free Music Review: McCartney Back In His Prime As He Reaches Age 65
Hit: 5 Stars

Upon listening to "Memory Almost Full" you realize that Paul McCartney is literally ageless. His vocal range his amazing, his bass playing is riveting and he plays several other instruments with prowess. "Vintage Clothes" is a bouncy and enthusiastic song. "That Was Me" is a wonderful tune mulling over his career. "House Of Wax" and "The End Of The End" are poignant masterpiecies reminiscent of Abbey Road. "Only Mama knows" and "Mr. Bellamy" bring back to mind "Eleanor Rigby" and Paul's other vintage contributions to "Revolver". The ferocious disc-ending "Nod Your Head" is absolutely remarkable. The music industry's most famous vegetarian and animal lover is back to his prime as he reaches the age of 65. "Memory Almost Full" and his previous album "Chaos And Creation In The Backyard" are an indication that Macca is on a musical surge.

Free Music Review: Sir Paul's album finally done!
Hit: 5 Stars

I say "Sir Paul's album finally done" because according to Paul McCartney's personal notes on this site, recording of this album began back in 2003,two years before the release of the preceding CHAOS AND CREATION IN THE BACKYARD. Some tracks on this album were originally intended for CACITB. McCartney debuts here on his independent label after recording for over four decades on Capitol. You get 13 great tracks just like on CACITB. Let's hope this album receives Grammy nominations like CACITB did. 1997's FLAMING PIE was probably nominated also. Interestingly, half a century ago,McCartney met his future Beatle the late John Lennon. McCartney, back then, was already friends with the late George Harrison. Anyway,if you're a Beatles fan,or a Wings fan, you'll love McCartney's solo albums as well, including this one.

Free Music Review: Amazing Vocals
Hit: 5 Stars

Regardless of how much you may like the material, this is one of the best male vocal performances you'll find. Just amazing, soaring vocals with range that would be incredible for someone half of McCartney's age. Fantastic singing, and the material just grows on me more and more. I still like "Flaming Pie" and "Chaos and Creation" somewhat better, but this is very, very good.

There's a lot of pathetic people who write these one- or two-star reviews (with sophomoric attempts at humor thrown in). No album will please everyone, and maybe some people just won't like something. But if you click on the "see all my reviews" link with a lot of these people, you find that they're just miserable little nothings who get off on trashing pretty much everything. Sad, very sad.
