Free Music Notes for New TrainFree Music Review: FANTASTIC! Hit: 5 Stars
I am not even a big fan of these type of music but after my husband bought this CD and left in the player I decided to take a listen. I now turn it on every day when I get home from work as a pick-me-up. What an incredible voice and sound! Genghis Blues (Oscar nominated documentary) the movie and CD are also worth listening too!
Free Music Review: Belongs in your collection Hit: 5 Stars
Great Album. Well written songs, feel good music, and very well produced ( you will want to turn it up, and if you do it will still sound great). It is among my favorite cds. Paul Pena has a great voice and a fantastic backing band. Each song is great in it's own way, and varies quite a bit stylistically.
Free Music Review: Paul Pena: New Train Hit: 5 Stars
This album makes you play it loud and get up and groove. It's great to hear the original version of Jet Airliner, read the liner notes and understand where it's coming from. It is also great to get to hear some Jerry Garcia riffs on pedal guitar which makes this long overdue release even more poignant.
Free Music Review: overlooked genius Hit: 5 Stars
I first heard about Paul Pena when he was featured on NPR a few years ago. Based upon the clips played on the radio show, I bought the album and it has been one of my favorites ever since. The vocals are amazing, the songs are soulful and fun -- I can't recommend it strongly enough.
Free Music Review: Should have been a great classic Hit: 5 Stars
If this album was released when it should have been (early 70s), we all would have heard it over a 1000 times by now. The real test of a classic is it's ability to be re-discovered many times over. This one is just getting a late start. An absolute MUST HAVE for any music lover.
