Free Music Notes for Lost DogsFree Music Review: thank you pearl jam Hit: 5 Stars
I wish other groups/artists would take note of the way this band conducts itself. Without getting too poetic, let's just say they're a fan's band, if such a thing exists. Bootlegs for fanatics, _Rearviewmirror_ for innocent bystanders, and this gem for those of us who bought the albums but didn't have the time/energy to collect every single and stray track. By doing it this way, no one has to buy anything they don't want, or already own. Perfect. And, oh yes, we should also take note of the ridiculously small sums being charged for the two aforementioned collections.
Above and beyond the platitudes, this is a terrific set - the quality is uniformly high throughout. If you're enough of a fan to buy this, though, I should point out that it _doesn't_ have every track that appeared on their singles - make sure you dig up their version of "Soldier of Love"... it's great.
Free Music Review: Great CD!! Hit: 5 Stars
Lost Dogs is a tremendous compilation from one of the best bands of the modern era. The great thing about Pearl Jam is that they allow their musical offerings to evolve and change as they mature. Lost Dogs allows us to listen in on ten years of their evolution. And can we stop the Pearl Jam vs. Nirvana battle going on here? I personally respect each band for what they are/were. And I'm sure that if Kurt was alive today, his music would have evolved into something much different than Bleach, Nevermind, and In Utero. Who would want to listen to 8 albums of the same exact sound? Dave Grohl didn't. And to trendhitman, who decided to use his reviews as a forum for Pearl Jam bashing, I'll remind you of what you called Pearl Jam in one of your many otherwise worthless reviews of Ten..."One of the most talented and influential bands of the past 10 years." I agree.

Finally all those mp3s and bootlegs are worth what they should be worth: NOTHING. This collection of songs is a shot right through the heart of Pearl Jam fans. Strange sounding, familiar, new ones, never heard before ones, and fav ones all come together in what definitely is an amazing gift from pearl jam to us. I wonder why some of these songs never made it to the cds (down, undone, dead man, other side etc.), i also wonder why didn't they include i got id and Long road... since these songs are kinda like b-sides. Thanks for yellow ledbetter and footsteps. thanks for the honesty in everything they do (even criticizing their own work). Thanks for keeping it as real as it can get. thanks to pearl jam for existing Lookin' forward to a new studio album hopefully this year. I just could ask for anything better than this!!! :)
Free Music Review: Found Gems and Moments of Happy Recollection Hit: 5 Stars
Lost Dogs is a collection of moments of my love of this band. Each song is one that one hopes to hear live at least once when they go to see PJ live. From Yellow Ledbetter that closes many a show to my new live favorite rarity, Down, listening to Lost Dogs is a treat, songs that span the decade plus of PJ, you can hear how much they've grown as you listen.I was really impressed with the song choices. There are so many songs that could be used, yes, I do have a few favorites that I would have liked to have seen included but then again, I now have a few new favorites like "Don't Gimme No Lip." Lost Dogs simply reaffirms that PJ is an amazing amalgam of people and talents. As usual, the packaging is great. I really appreciated the little blurbs about each song and where they came from. Lost Dogs is a great addition to your CD library.
Free Music Review: These Dogs Shouldn't Have Been Lost Baby Hit: 5 Stars
I love Pearl Jam, so this review may seem a little biased. When I got this album at a midnight sale the day it came out, I was really excited to hear some of my favorite songs that got a lot of air play and were on numerous live recordings. These included Last Kiss, Ledbetter, Wash, and Footsteps. But when I thoroughly listened to both of these disks, I found that some of the other rare gems had evolved into some of my favorite PJ songs ever. Down might be their best song, if only for that little song they wrote called Black. Other favorites include Sad, Fatal, Hard to Imagine, and Hold On. In my opinion, these are really Lost Dogs, and should have been included on one of PJ's studio releases and not a b-side compilation. All in all though, this is an awesome release.
