Free Music Review: wow
Hit: 5 Stars

People appear to be pretty retarded to call PJ "mainstream" or complain about the hits on this album. Of course there's no way they could put every song to please everyone one of their fans out there but when they make a "greatest hits" you should expect there to be some popular sh*t on it. Why would they make a "greatest hits"... to put B-sides and demos on it??? Those aren't their hits and that's what Lost Dogs and the fan club vinyls are for. When Soundgarden made "A-sides" how many of you were suprised to see radio singles on there. DUH!! They're called greatest hits for a reason and if you don't get that you should be out at Oppotunity Village handing out free Avril Lavigne t-shirts. Also considering the fact that PJ releases very few radio hits and makes close to no videos how much more un-"mainstream" do you want them to get? Every other post grunge band had twice as many videos and twice as many radio hits as Pearl Jam and faded out 5 almost 10 years ago! A true fan would understand that, but the ones who came along when they heard Staind remake "Black" (which sucks by the way) should just go back in the closet and listen to your pop music. Those who appreciate PJ's music will be happy with this collection of great songs. Finally we have 1 place where we can listen to both songs from the Singles sountrack with "I Got No ID" and "Man of the Hour", I couldn't be happier with this collection.

Free Music Review: NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW GOOD THIS ONE IS, BUT I'LL TRY
Hit: 5 Stars

I used to ask myself if there was a way to get all of my fav Pearl Jam songs together on two (or even three or four) CDs. My question was answered on Nov 16, when Pearl Jam gave its die hard fans a nearly lethal dose of rock. Although there isn't anything "new" on the album, it was awesome to see a few new mixes. I really like what was done with "Black", and kicking off the album with "Once" was an awesome idea.

If you're a new Pearl Jam fan, this is the perfect "starter kit" for you, but you'll still have to go and pick up all of the other albums (burned copies don't count!). I was a amazed when I saw that "State of Love and Trust", and "Breath" were included on the album, as they are both classics.

Don't hesitate to buy this album (hell, get three or four copies of it so that you have one wherever you go). Every song will have you rocking out, and Mike McCready, Eddie Vedder, Matt Cameron, Jeff Ament,Stone Gossard and company never cease to amaze.

The ONLY things that I can say would have improved this album (if possible) would have been a live version of "Yellow Ledbetter", (the studio version doesnt do the song justice) and a better CD insert booklet (I was hoping for commentary on the songs, lyrics and all kinds of neat stuff, like most of their other booklets have).

PEARL JAM ROCKS!

Free Music Review: 4 1/2 - Severly Excellent Compliation
Hit: 5 Stars

Only problems are that it's missing some of my favorites (Satan's Bed, Brain of J, Love Boat Captain, Insignificance, Glorified G, Deep, Release), and that Once is edited, other than that, it's superb/perfect. Track ratings:

Upside:

1. Once (8/10)
2. Alive (10/10)
3. Evenflow (10/10)
4. Jeremy (10/10)
5. State of Love and Trust (9/10)

9. Rearviewmirror (9/10)
10. Spin the Black Circle (9/10)
11. Corduroy (10/10)
12. Not for You (10/10)
13. I Got ID (8/10)
14. Hail Hail (10/10)
15. Do the Evolution (9/10)
16. Save You (10/10)

Downside:

1. Black (10/10)
2. Breath (10/10)
3. Daughter (9/10)
4. Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town (10/10)
5. Immortality (9/10)
6. Better Man (10/10)
7. Nothingman (9/10)

Highly recommended to starters of Pearl Jam! I either recommend this, Ten, or Vs. Can't go wrong with any of the 3.

Free Music Review: ONE OF THE BEST COLLECTIONS
Hit: 5 Stars

This album is a great addition to anyones collection. It charts the development of a great band from early nineties to present day. The collection contains so many varying types of songs that it is hard not to like at least some of them. The album is split into two sides namely an upside and a downside. the upside contains many of the smash hit songs i.e. (Jeremy, alive , once, go) from the albums ten and Vs as well as songs from latter albums (Vitalogy, No code, Yield, Binuaral and Riot act). the songs on upside are invariably of a higher tempo and would appeal to the fans of the early albums.
the second side of the album is jam packed of more mellow songs but one or two of them could have been put on the upside .ie. given to fly, breath etc. The inclusion of the all-time classic song ''black'' makes this disc a must even for the casual listener. Also included on this disc is previously unreleased song '' man of the hour and fan favourite ''' yellow ledbetter''
After listening to this album you are struck by how talented this band really are. One possible gripe is that the latter albums are not as represented as much as say ten, Vs. Some would argue that this is correct i wouldnt. Some of pearl jam best and most under rated work has been done since.
hopefully there is more to come.

Free Music Review: Don't complain. Please.
Hit: 5 Stars

First of all, this album is an excellent compilation that shows both the power and sentience of one of the greatest American rock bands. If you like Pearl Jam in any way, shape or form, I highly recommend this album. It is a must have...that is unless you own 20 PJ cds already.

But anyway, why would anyone complain about a greatest hits album that has all the greatest hits? There are many great songs that are not on this album but does that mean that the songs that are on it don't deserve to be? Absolutely not. Not every one is a die-hard Pearl Jam fan. This album is for them; the people that don't (yet) already own every studio album and a few bootlegs.

To the die-hard; Isn't it enough that almost every live Pearl Jam concert from the past four years has been made available for purchase? What is there to complain about?
If you already own every studio album and more, why even bother with this one, and why rate it less for not having "Untitled" from Live on Two Legs? That song is not a hit. And if you miss it from this cd, you probably already have it on 20 bootlegs!! Give me a break. And please don't discredit the band for not giving the finger to the general public. That's just rediculous.
