Free Music Notes for Ten (Deluxe Edition) (2CD/1 DVD)Free Music Review: Now THIS Is Deluxe Reissues SHOULD Be About! Hit: 5 Stars
Remaster the original 1991 album to perfection, add a second disc which features a great 2008 Brendan O'Brein remix that strips away the dated reverb of the original mix and makes Eddie Vedder's vocals clearer and more upfront, gives the guitars additional bite and edge and adds kick and punch to the bass and drums.Include outtakes and demos,"Brother" being the standout with the slowed-down "State Of Love And Trust" being a close second.Contain all of the 1992 "MTV Unplugged" performance (availble for the first time on DVD)and compliment it with stellar picture and sound quality.(BTW, all discs were mastered by the talented Bob Ludwig.)Finish off with a nostalgic, colorful booklet and you've got a great, entertaining package worth its high price.Bravo!
Free Music Review: The Best Edition Hit: 5 Stars
Ok, I have been a Pearl Jam fan for ages, since 1992 I bought every Pearl Jam record I could find. This re-edition of Ten is great. For a very low price you got 2 cds and a DVD. The packaging is beautiful, is a sort of little book with pictures from the time Ten was recorded. You got the original Ten, the remixed version of the album and the dvd of the famous unplugged played in 1992.
Of all the versions available I think this is the best, the super deluxe would be a great choice if you're a collector but the price is a little high. So if you want the best price/value relation this version is the way to go.
Free Music Review: A milestone in the history of Rock Hit: 5 Stars
Emerging from the ashes of one of the most influential bands in Seattle Grunge (Mother Love Bone), Pearl Jam mark the movement today. Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, among others eventually, lost strength, but in his "world", Pearl Jam continued to grow and develop. In his first album, some of his greatest classics: Alive, Even Flow, Jeremy, and his first ballad: Black. Free Music Review: Able to build on the legacy Hit: 5 Stars
Pearl Jam's Ten was arguably one of the best rock albums ever. When I heard that they were reissuing a remastered version, I was a little skeptical. After listening to it, I can see why they went through the effort. They were able to build on the legacy by adding in a few unreleased tracks and an awesome version of "State of Love and Trust". Whether you are a hardcore fan, or just a fan of music, this is an awesome production, and a must have for any collection.
Free Music Review: Great Remix by Brendan O'Brien! Hit: 5 Stars
I love what Brendan O'Brien did with the original tracks. Don't worry, the same vibe is there, just less unnecessary reverb. He pushes Ed's voice to the forefront and cranks up McCready's lead guitars! Fantastic! The only thing that might be a little polarizing is Brendan's remix of "Jeremy" which loses the "Do Do DoDo DoDoDoo" in favor of more volume on the guitar. I love it, but I can see where some might miss it. Can't wait for the new album!
