Free Music Notes for Peeping Tom

One of my favorite films of all time is Peeping Tom. Michael Powell is one of the great directors of all time. It's funny that the closely named Mike Patton has used this name for his new project. It is a big collaboration with many people that Patton has never met. The first track "Five Seconds" is much like Faith No More and features Odd Nosdam. Other people who show up on this are Dan The Automator and Amon Tobin. I am a big Kool Keith fan. So the song "Getaway" reminds me a little of Black Elvis and Prodigy. Good stuff. I also like "Kill The DJ" with Massive Attack. It's a little like some stuff off of 100th Window. Other people who show up on this are Kid Koala, Bebel Gilberto, and even Norah Jones. It's a sort of record that shows who are Patton's friends. It's all pretty good, but unlike some of his recent material. It's a valid statement.

Free Music Review: You either love Mike Patton, or you're an idiot...

We all know why we're here-we worship the guy who croons as well as he croaks. So how does this Peeping Tom thing work out? Well...4 years on and you expect a little something more, but this is a fun and interesting trip-hop Patton showcase nonetheless...plus you get to hear Norah Jones say the F-word. Does it sound "dated"? Well, yeah, a little. Will this win Mr.Patton any new fans? Who gives a s^&t? Check it out, I guarantee you'll dig at least half of it, and LOVE at least 3 jams. I'm really likin' the last track-it's pretty rockin', and the hook is nice and sweet, FNM style. Good times to be had here, Patton disciples, good times, but Angel Dust/California it is not...but really, what is? I've seen Faith No More, seen Mr.Bungle, seen Lovage, seen Tomahawk, seen Fantomas...and I WILL see Peeping Tom...and so will you. End of discussion.

Free Music Review: patton still has it!
Hit: 4 Stars

after years of patton putting out mediocre records (the last thing he did that i really loved was tomahawk) finally we have peeping tom! patton bathes us in his beautiful voice once again! this album is anchored in the hip hop world with undeniable hip hop beats. musically this is very much how i expected it to be. some songs are really good, others are just bad. it seems to me that every album that patton has been a part of has had at least one song that i would skip each time (with the exception of mr bungle, california, and angel dust). this, has two or three that really aren't worth a second listen. i've tried to listen to just those songs without listening to the rest of the album, but, they still don't cut it.

the good songs are fantastic, and luckily, it's made up of mostly good songs.

Free Music Review: Patton at his psuedo pop finest since FNM!
Hit: 4 Stars

For those of you who havent followed THE MAN this is probably his most "poppy" record since the days of Faith No More. This record is awesome, the more I listen to it the better it gets.Check out Five Seconds and Kill the DJ.There are a lot of guest artists on this one and the packaging is very unique so it's definitley worth buying! There is also a track not available on the cd that is an itunes exclusive!Be sure to check out his new movie FIRECRACKER and his other projects:Tomahawk,Lovage,Mr. Bungle,Weird Little Boy,various projects with JOHN ZORN,Handsome Boy Modeling School,General Patton VS. the X-ecutioners,Patton & Kaada,And of course Fantomas (I'm sure I forgot a few)...ENJOY!

Free Music Review: It's Real Good!
Hit: 4 Stars

If you don't like this, you're obviously a result of bad genetics. Your parents were relatives, and God f'd up your eardrums in vengeance. Audibly-speaking, you can't tell a plate of goose-turds from a bowl of foie gras. You fool.
This is not only a good album. It's foie-gras for your ears. Spoon that stuff in there, buddy. It's good!
If you don't like it at first, wait a while. Listen again, this time carefully. If you still don't like it, I'm sorry, but you're most- likely inbred. I feel for you. I'm sure a cure of some kind is on the way. Enjoy the new Black Eyed Peas album in the meantime! Sorry!
