Free Music Notes for A Tribal Metamorphosis

Free Music Review: caveat emptor
Hit: 1 Stars

Rachel Bryce is one of the best American bellydancers out there, and this album bearing her picture immediately got my attention. The ad copy promises tribal fusion music "inspired by Middle Eastern rhythms."
It also describes the music as "appropriate for an industrial nightclub", and that latter description is a lot more accurate than the former. (Although it would be a pretty dull club that played tunes like this all night.) There is almost NO middle-eastern influence on this whatsoever, with the exception of a doumbek sample on one track, and an edit of a track by the far better band Solace, which adds nearly nothing to the excellent original. What we get is busy percussive programming made from banged metal samples and such, with a number of aimless drones and samples sprinkled on top. A huge disappointment, and certainly not very conducive to dancing, belly or otherwise. People looking for experimental mid-eastern electronica would be better served by Muslim Gauze's work on Extreme, while those seeking some modern tribal club beats should check out Badawi, Arkin Allen (aka Mercan Dede), or Solace's remix album.

Free Music Review: Less is More from Pentaphobe
Hit: 1 Stars

I was very excited to listen to this CD. When it finally arrived I thought I had accidentally purchased the soundtrack to Resident Evil: The Apocalypse. This music has a very dark vibe and is difficult to dance to, or do anything else for that matter, without a sense of impending doom. It's creepy, haunting sound mixes don't really succeed in incorporating any tribal music. I'm stunned one could belly dance to this. It is less tribal metamorphosis and more scary acid trip. I wish I could ship this one back and make a better choice. Save your money my fair friends and just pass this one by.

Free Music Review: A very great decepcion on Tribal Music
Hit: 1 Stars

Hi! My daughter and I are fans of Rachel Brice very own style of tribal bellydance. I bought both the DVD and Music Cd for our collection. But for my suprise it wasn't what we expected. I have several tribal music including the Solace collection , and one of the songs Cybelle which is my favorite. This version was a Killer!!! Don't waste your money in this CD.

Free Music Review: If you are looking for bellydance music
Hit: 1 Stars

If you are looking for bellydance music, don't buy this one. With the exception of "I Cash Radii" and "Cybele", I find this music too dark and lifeless. Actually, most of it is not music, but industrial techno noise. Don't waste your money. If you are looking for some bellydance music that is not all that traditional, try Galactic Caravan.

Free Music Review: dance music?
Hit: 1 Stars

I was very disappointed by this CD although I buy all belly dance CDs on the market and use at least some material on each. On this one there is almost nothing to be used by a belly dancer. Great for Star Trek, though, or for trance dance. Is this really a tribal
