Free Music Notes for Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

Free Music Review: Exquisitely Beautiful
Hit: 5 Stars

I agree with many people that "Perfume" is a very unique, unusual film/book (loved the movie, I still have to read the novel), the haunting, breathtakingly gorgeous soundtrack floored me upon first hearing it. While I am not the type of person who rushes out and purchases the score to every film I've ever seen, I knew I had to own this one. Intoxicating, lush, sensual, romantic, ethereal, emotional, and at times sinister, it captures perfectly the atmosphere of 18th century France, as well as the inner turmoil of the obsessed/tortured main character. I will listen to this score again and again when I want to drift away in my own thoughts, or jump start my creative muse. Among my favorite tracks are "The Girl with the Plums", "Distilling Roses", "Lost Love", "Meeting Laura", The Perfume", and the heavenly "The Crowd embrace"...but the whole disc is truly incredible, from start to finish.

Free Music Review: Perfume to my ears
Hit: 5 Stars

As soon as I saw the film, I fell in love with its beautiful, romantic, atmospheric music and ordered the soundtrack right away. It is as moody and exotic as the film as it follows the story of one of the most unusual and original characters ever created by fiction, focusing on his very well developed sense of smell, something almost in the super-hero genre, if it wasn't for the character's macabre obsession. The music to this thus, had to be a perfect translation in notes and chords, which is a tremendous task more than brilliantly achieved. Track after track of intoxicating beauty, as the most exquisite perfume. I'm surprised this hasn't attracted more attention than it deserves. For me, it's right up there with Herrmann's "Vertigo".

Free Music Review: Simply a masterpiece
Hit: 5 Stars

As I know, Stanley Kubrick claimed the book was unfilmable... Nonetheless, with this musical effort it has been proven that this great novel can be transferred into an astonishing music score that transports the listener to other dimensions.

I have attempted to read the book by using this soundtrack as a background musing... and it was mind-blowing...

A travel into the ocean of perfumes...

Excellent !!!!
Perfect !!!
Bravo !!!

Free Music Review: Perfection
Hit: 5 Stars

I am completely enthralled by this film score. The visuals and the music of the film compliment each other so perfectly and create the most amazing emotional experience. All the tracks are like tastes of different smells of different scenes of the story. Even if you haven't seen the film, this is the most beautiful symphonic music, and even so; I'm quite sure the film will only enhance the experience.
I am a great fan of film scores and this one certainly ranks among my top three.
Highly recommended!

Free Music Review: I really like this one
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm totally puzzled by the negative tone of the "official" Amazon reviewer. This is really a very fine score, rather hard to categorize but certainly effective -- even when played out of the context of the movie -- with a certain darkwave or noir atmosphere that I find very appealing.

It's also rather amazing when you consider this is the same team that created the frenetically energized Eurobeat score for "Run Lola Run."
