Free Music Notes for Haymans GreenFree Music Review: would purchase next release Hit: 4 Stars
Haymans Green is a pleasant middle of the road late sixties style rocker. Nice vocal harmonies, almost Byrds-like, other songs meant for Paul and/or John to sing--easy to imagine. Pete is back-beat style(and whats wrong with that?), but, does show his chops on the last track, Haymans Green with some tasty drum fills.
Free Music Review: A Pleasant Surprise Hit: 4 Stars
A bouncy little pop album with some great hooks. The band doesn't try to be profound, just plays some fun, catchy songs. Good for Pete!
Free Music Review: Why not "Hamburg" style? Hit: 3 Stars
This is a very good piece of work by Pete Best. I'm very happy to see him out there working and getting the recognition that he deserves.
I kind of just wish that he would release a CD of the type of hard driving rock n' roll he was doing while playing with the Beatles (and more like what he does currently in his live performances).
He seems to be striving in this effort to re-create a sort of watered down version of mid-60's pop fluff. Or, a poor man's version of the Beatles from that era.
If you like this kind of music, then that's fine. Again, it's not bad at all. It's just not the Pete Best that I'd like to see in action.
Free Music Review: ARE YOU ALL KIDDING ME? Hit: 1 Stars
Now I know what is meant when I hear that a lot of reviews are phony by record companies to promote cds. I bought this cd strictly from all of the reviews I read with all 4 or 5 stars. After just listening to the first few songs, I thought, wow I was suckerd in buying this "Best Album of The Year" Total gargbage, and I like Pete, and wanted so much to like this cd.Buyer beware!
