Free Music Notes for Philadelphia Chickens (Sandra Boynton's Imaginary Musical Revue)Free Music Review: Get the book too! Hit: 5 Stars
I just wanted to write a quick review to let you know that this cd is as cute and wonderful as everyone says but for less than a buck more, Amazon sells it as a cd/book set. The book is really great too. The lyrics of each song are written poetry-style with her adorable illustrations. It even has a section in the back with sheet music for each song. I wish I had known that. If my son had the book, he could look at the pics and "read" along with the lyrics in the car. BIG bummer for me but I hope the info helps you!
Free Music Review: Broadway Step Aside Hit: 5 Stars
Delightful humor that is enhanced by reading along in the book. I cracked up when I saw the dance steps for Philadelphia Chickens--no pun intended. I thought the book/music might be "too young" for my 7 and 9 year olds liking. Wrong!!! In two short weeks of listening to this in the car, they have memorized most of the lyrics. Really wholesome and humorous but intelligent music that I can share with my children as well as my 90 year old parents without being embarrassed by the lyrics.
Free Music Review: Love it, love it, love it!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
This CD is magnificent! If you can find the book to go with it, it's even better. My 4 and 5 year olds can't get enough. It's done like a little show, and they love to perform it for me. The music is so catching that we find ourselves singing the songs all the time, and once it's on you just can't keep from dancing. Many of the songs are sung by well known people and done wonderfully. I can't say enough about this superb work by Sandra Boynton!!!!!!
Free Music Review: The more I play it, the more I love it. Hit: 5 Stars
This CD keeps growing on me and my daughter loves it too. We have a couple of the books that go along with the songs like "Snuggle Puppy" and "The Belly Button Book". My daughter Eva is 16 months and she now tries to sing along. I especially love the songs by the Bacon Brothers , Eric Stoltz and Kevin Kline. I find myself singing and dancing to them along with Eva. She likes the songs about the "cows", "ducks", "belly button" and "puppy".
Free Music Review: You won't mind getting it stuck in your head Hit: 5 Stars
We got this for our daughter to supplement the other sugary kids' music we have. This is a departure from that, as some of the other reviews allude to. My wife and I actually found ourselves humming or whistling these songs to ourselves, even when our daughter was sleeping! They are funny, witty, catchy, and - as the review title suggests - you won't mind getting the song stuck in your head all day.
