Free Music Notes for Wish You Were Here

Free Music Review: Pretty Good
Hit: 4 Stars

I like this album, it keeps in true form of Pink Floyd. Any Pink Floyd fan will most likely have this, but it is a good album to have, just the same, even if you are just getting in to Pink Floyd. The songs are good and it's an enjoyable listen.

Free Music Review: Great!
Hit: 5 Stars

Written as a tribute to their lost compatriot, Syd Barrett, this album remains one of Pink Floyd's timeless classics. Soaring guitars, strong lyrics, and great song writing all make this album one of the band's strongest releases. Bookended by the epic "Shine on You Crazy Diamond," the second and third tracks depict a band's rise to fame in a cynical, profit driven industry, while the fourth track, "Wish You Were Here," plays almost like a what-if, unrequited love song, dedicated to their lost genius. This also shows Floyd's ability to get a fully satisfying album out of only five songs.

Free Music Review: Karen of NY
Hit: 5 Stars

Wish You Were Here is one of the top four CDs/Albums released by Pink Floyd. The actual song, Wish You Were Here, is a poignant profession of life well learned. If you are a Pink Floyd fan and yet have not yet been introduced to Wish You Were Here, you must have this CD.

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skys from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

Pink Floyd Is Philosophically, Psychologically, and Ethereally Awesome!

Free Music Review: Pink Floyd - Tales Of Syd
Hit: 5 Stars

After the monumental success of the band's previous album "Dark Side Of The Moon" it was going to be difficult to do a follow up. For the most part "Wish You Were Here" builds successfully on the formula established with the bands previous two discs. The album begins and ends with the two part "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" a tribute to original band leader and acid casualty Syd Barret. In between are several tracks that reflect the evils of the music industry. This is another very strong disc that pretty much every progressive rock fan already owns. The album seems to be a favorite among the band itself as well. I don't think this one is quite as good as "Dark Side", but it is more essential Pink Floyd.

Free Music Review: Classic Pink Floyd
Hit: 5 Stars

In my opinion, the best Pink Floyd album ever. Yes, better than Dark Side of the Moon. Nuff said.
