Free Music Notes for I'm Not DeadFree Music Review: Excellent and addicting CD! Hit: 5 Stars
Pink is one of the most talented artist out there today and has an amazing full range voice to boot. I listened to this CD a week straight when I got it. Pink writes the lyrics to all of her songs and does have something to say.
WITH THAT BEING SAID, I slightly agree with those who call Pink a hypocrite. She could lay off of the constant ranting and raving and simply try to be positive with herself and not use berating others as a means of selling records. I do agree that the mentality of girls such as Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Jessica Simpson are sending out the wrong messages. I think if Pink dressed less revealing (who said a girl can only be sexy if she is showing so much skin?!) and constantly didn't diss other celebs, she could be taken more seriously.
After that mini rant, I will once again repeat that this is an excellent high-quality CD that is trying to get a good message out there which is a breath of fresh air in our cookie cutter, morally bankrupt, and greedy music industry.
I wish Pink the best in her career and hope she tones it down a little so she can be taken even more seriously with future releases.
Free Music Review: a woman with courage and a great voice! Hit: 5 Stars
Being a die-hard Madonna fan, I have previously always thought of P!nk as one of the up & coming female singers (the ooh baby ooh types) who show a lot of skin, but don't exhibit much else...How wrong could I be!
I bought this CD solely for her song "Dear Mr. President", and it is one of the best scathing criticisms of Mr. G.W. Bush that I have heard in recent years! She does not hold back, particularly with her wanting to tell him about "hard work...minimum wage with a baby on the way..." What about that, George?...as she says: "You don't know nothing about hard work!" It gives chills down my spine when I hear it..it is that dead-on and sincere!!! I admire her courage in having the nerve to distribute this song... Her other songs are great, such as the hit: "Stupid Girls", and "I got money now"..."Who Knew?"..GREAT VOICE ...along with her duet with her Dad...I have to say she has not replaced my Madonna, but still captures my interest in terms of who I will continue to follow, as she is someone who seriously wishes to
contribute to society as a MUSICIAN., not simply an entertainer.
Free Music Review: Amazing!! Hit: 5 Stars
This is hands-down my favorite CD to date. When I first bought this CD, I was taking a long road trip and figured I'd listen to it as I drove. That was 2 months ago and this CD has hardly been out of my CD player since. I adore just about every single song on this CD and I LOVE the fact that P!nk actually talks about subject matters besides sex/relationships. She actually has more going on in her life besides how she feels about some man or how some man feels about her. Life is variety and so full of much more than the fodder that passes for music these days.
My favorite tracks:
"I Got Money Now" because of the lyrics and "Conversations with My 13 Year Old Self" for the music. I wish they sold the instrumental version of this song; it's the most beautiful piece I've heard in contemporary music in quite some time.
Buy this CD! This is a woman with her head on straight and isn't looking at the world through rose colored glasses. She is such an inspiration to strong-minded, independent women everywhere!
Keep Rockin' P!nk!!!
Free Music Review: The Best Album of the Last Thirty Six Years Hit: 5 Stars
[...] This is the best musical album of the last thirty six years. All of the four first singles of this album, that have already been released are representative pieces of proof of that. Pink's first four singles, of which the source is this album, alone, express the fact that Pink has managed to break away from her negative background, and to become a great singer in spite of society's attempts to harm Pink and to make her ugly."Stupid Girls" is the brightest highlight of this album, and it is a shame that the video for that song was not richer."Who Knew" is a single about lost love, which proves that Pink is a true egalitarian because in that single she does not put limitations of gender to the theme of love. "U+Ur Hand" is another highlight of the album because of the same reason and because of that single's complexity."Nobody Knows" is another wonderful single which proves Pink's assertiveness and grandeur as a singer.Pink is both beautiful and smart, things which are reflected in this album in a way better than in her preceding albums.
Free Music Review: True Talent Is Never Dead Hit: 5 Stars
Pinks new CD shows that she isn't dead after the boring and uninspired Try This. I'm Not Dead is not a perfect album at all, being brought down by far to many hook less borderline folk songs that are more of a statement rather than a song. Conversations With My 13 Year Old Self is a misstep and never makes it to epic proportions. Stupid Girls on the other hand is catchy and also has a powerful message that is timely in every way. Who Knew is a Janis Joplin sized song that shows off Pinks amazing voice and soul. Also one of the best and most powerful songs on the CD, U + UR HAND becomes a female anthem that does not preach what others have such as Destiny's Child's Independent Women part 2 where they sing "if you ain't in love I congratulate you." Instead the song shows that women can be in a relationship when they choose, instead of rejecting it all together. Pink has an amazing voice and a lot of soul. She shines with her strong lyrics, catchy hooks, and passion for what she is singing. Long Live PINK!
