Free Music Notes for TexasFree Music Review: Great CD Hit: 5 StarsExcellent CD. You could compare it to postal service or death cab but with a more upbeat tune, even tho the lyrics can sometimes be somber. Otherwise...Lyrics are great and songs are extremely catchy, yet it has its own unique sound unlike any other band i've heard before. This CD excites me as much as Silversun Pickups. I def recommend this CD.
Free Music Review: Great debut album hints at a bright future! Hit: 4 StarsThis is a really solid album. It's mature, intelligent and simply fun! I think the comparisons to The Postal Service are a stretch. It actually in many ways reminds me a lot of Ben Kweller.
I think if Dan and Ben, who are both from Texas, were to collaborate on an album, it would be pretty freaking awesome.
Give Dan a few years to mature- his next album is going to be amazing.
Free Music Review: Amazing New Artist Hit: 5 StarsI got home last night from a Yellowcard concert with these guys as the opening band. I was instantly hooked. Their sound is unique and fresh--reminiscent of Hellogoodbye and the like. I bought the CD and have been listening to it since.
Great stuff! I highly recommend it! And if you get the chance to see them in concert--GO!
Free Music Review: Exceeeded expectations Hit: 5 StarsI've been a fan of PlayRadioPlay! for a couple of years now, and I've been waiting for the moment he would release a full-length album after the [Frequency] EP and countless demos. I think Dan Hunter is incredibly talented, but I wasnt't expecting much more than what I'd heard in the past. From the first song, "Loco Commotion", to the last, "Texas," I was very surprised at the depth and diversity of this album. Texas is full of good hooks and strong vocals that keep me interested and excited for the rest. "Madi Don't Leave," the first single, is very upbeat and a promising song that may well expand Hunter's fan base. I'd recommend this album for anyone who has good taste in music..... haha. Or just for fans of electronica similar to The Postal Service, Metro Station, Forever The Sickest Kids, The Secret Handshake, etc.
Free Music Review: If you like Death Cab or Postal Service then you will love playradioplay Hit: 5 StarsGood music reminds me a lot of Ben Gibbard from Postal service/death cab for cutie. Same type of music.
