Free Music Review: Great compilation, but nothing really new. Hit: 4 Stars
First off, let me say that if you are just looking for a great Poison compilation album and are not a hardcore fan (like me), then this is definately the album you should pick up. It is far superior to the greatest hits compilation that came out a few years ago, as it spans thier entire career. Now for the bad news-if you are a hardcore fan I think I should warn you- you're only getting one previously unreleased song (an acoustic version of "Stand"). The packaging led me to believe I was getting two unreleased songs, but the so-called "new version" of "Something to believe in" is actually a b-side that I've had on cassette since 1991. Don't get me wrong, this is an excellent album, and being a completist, I probably would have bought it even if there was nothing new on it, I just wanted to let hardcore fans know, so they don't go into the album expecting more than they get. (like I did.)
Free Music Review: A Lot Better Than I Thought Hit: 4 Stars
I thought this would be a lame collection of lame songs. But when I put it in, I was actually very suprised. It is pretty much all their ballads (I love their ballads), and some hard-rocking blues tracks. One track doesn't really fit(Good Love), but it is a powerfully cool song, so I was happy to have it. For a true collection of Poison, get Greatest Hits, but this is also extremely good.
Free Music Review: Awesome! Hit: 4 Stars
My other half bought this CD for me and I must say that it was a pleasant surprise! It's no secret that hair bands were the best ballad writers... Poison being the best of all them recorded most of the best ballands of all time. All together in this record with also other bluesy tracks make this the perfect album for rock and roll fans in search of the best ballads out there... Get it!
